↳ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐇𝐄 tennis ball that goes back and forth as the players hit it? Well, to Gwendolyn — being a tennis player herself — gossip is just like that ball, it goes from one mouth to another and then back in a never-ending vicious cycle. Living in a place like the Upper East Side, that is driven by gossip — and money, of course —, Gwen thinks she knows all about avoiding being the center of rumors and scandals. She even has rules!
Rule number 1: Control your temper.
Rule number 2: Do not share personal information if you know it can be used against you.
Rule number 3: Do not get romantically involved with someone from your group of friends, nor someone that is taken, a player, and/or has a bad reputation.
Even with these three rules is not like she has the time to be part of gossip, not when her friends keep her quite busy getting themselves in all kinds of scandals, which she has to help them get out of. Oh, and not to mention the fact her mother expects her scores to be perfectly high both in the tennis matches and school. Considering everything, Gwen is doing pretty well on all her tasks and goals so far. Well, Gossip Girl didn't nickname her 'Golden Girl' for nothing.
Now, since the summer that Gwen and her friends spent at The Hamptons, there are some odd rumors going around about Gwendolyn having spent her vacation doing much more than sunbathing by the pool at her family's mansion and playing tennis as usual. Word is that she had been sneaking around with Nicholas Waldorf. That's right, her best friend's brother! These rumors must be bullshit, though, because Nick is engaged to Sloan Irvine — the Californian model and activist everyone seems to be obsessed with lately —, and, besides, the guy goes against everything Gwen's rules represent, and she wouldn't break her sacred rules. So it all has to be a lie...
