Russian English Japanese Flashback
No one's PoV
Hinata finally rejoins the group after a ridiculous amount of time. He tries to continue getting ready for practice but could feel eyes on the back of his head throughout practice as the rest of the team slowly filtered in. "Ok, what's up with you guys?" Hinata shouts breaking the silence of the gym. "I can feel you staring at me, spit it out!" Everyone was surprised by the sudden outburst. Suga, who had been doing most of the staring, looked extremely guilty. "Sorry about that Hinata! A few of us just had a chat before practice started and we all pretty much have the same question." Suga explained. Hinata tilted his head to the side like a puppy. "What the hell is up with you lately?" Suga asks in a sickly sweet tone. Hinata was caught off guard by the question and took a few moments to put himself together. "Am I doing something wrong?" He asks suddenly. Hinata had a hurt and confused expression on his face. "Why are you asking me that...unless your mad at me or something?"
Suga POV
"Why are you asking me that...unless you're mad at me or something?" Hinata says looking down. I'm horrified he thinks that's why I'm concerned. "What? No! Why would I be mad? You're just not yourself lately, it's concerning!" I quickly correct him. "Yeah, that's a weird thing to automatically assume when someone asks what's wrong with you lately. Although it was asked in a bit of an aggressive manner..." Yamaguchi says. He has a point, I'm pretty sure no one else thought of that when I asked Hinata the question earlier. Hinata just shrugs in response. "Everything's fine, I haven't really changed anything that I'm doing." He says, I feel like he's holding something back though. "Boke! You were completely out of it this morning!" Kageyama shouts. Hinata seems to build up in anger. Uh oh, here comes another argument. I just wanted answers and now I have to listen to them bicker like toddlers? "And? Can't someone have an off day sometimes? It happens to everyone eventually! I was just a little burnt out, that's it." Hinata defends himself. He shoots a glare at everyone questioning him before starting to grab his stuff. "I've got to get going, I'll see you tomorrow." He mumbled before slamming the door on his way out. "Well that went well." Tsukishima said sarcastically. "Shut up Saltyshima!" I shouted. Daichi snickers a little. "Now you've pissed off suga-momma!" He whispers thinking I couldn't hear. I might murder him later. "Oh? What was that? You want to practice everyday during lunch and after practice ends?" I say. Daichi looks terrified. We both know he doesn't have the stamina like Hinata or kageyama to practice that much.
Hinata POV
At first I was scared they were mad, then I was scared they found out, then I find out they're just overreacting! It pisses me off. At least it was time to go fortunately, I don't want to be near them right now. I'm on my way to get my bike when I start to feel bad for leaving the way I did. I'll have to apologize tomorrow.
After getting to the rink, I rush in, say a quick hello to Yuuko, and get changed to train.
Figure skating went about as well as this morning's volleyball practice. With all my jumbled up feelings after yelling at my team, I couldn't focus. I'm probably letting them down by screwing up so much. "Shoyo...get out of your own head, you're doing fine." Victor says interrupting my thoughts. "Eh?!" I shout. Victor laughs at that. I guess it was funny? "When I was your age, whenever I screwed up something I would always blame myself. Guess what, whatever it is your thinking about is your fault, it's not. Everyone has their off days, you just need to learn how to get through them." Victor said. It was weirdly encouraging but also strange since he doesn't usually give me pep talks, that's Yuri's job.
Somehow it got worse from there. I started running into walls, falling on my face, tripping over my own feet on and off the ice, I looked like a total beginner! "Hmm, yeah, no, ignore what I said earlier, somethings wrong. Spill." Victor said after the 5th time I fell on my back. It really hurt this time! "I'm gonna stay down here." I sigh. Victor just nods. "So what happened at school today?" He said suddenly. I pick up my head and look at him. "Nothing. Just overly concerned teammates, why?" I ask. It seemed unrelated. Victor just hums and nods. "What did they say that made you think that?" He asked. What is he now, my therapist? "Well first they asked me 'what the hell is up with me lately' then continued to basically interrogate me all because I was 'off' this morning! I swear, they're so overprotective it's insane!" I shout frustrated. Victor looked worried for a moment. "You were off this morning? What do you mean?"
I told Victor all about this morning, feeling slightly embarrassed I had to tell him how much I screwed up. By the end Victor looked a little worried. "I think you're getting burnt out by trying to balance skating and volleyball." Victor said sighing. "Maybe you need to reevaluate what you want to do." I don't know why but hearing that made me so upset. I love both, why should I have to choose? "I can't choose one or the other Victor, we talked about this!" I said. Victor sighs before starting to skate off. "I think we should stop here for today." Victor said sadly. "Wait, just one last thing! I've been trying all day, but I think I have it this time." I said firmly. Victor smiles and nods. I speed up and get ready to attempt an triple axel jump. Usually I can get a double, but I've been struggling with the triple. I jump and start to spin, but I seem to of miscalculated and didn't get the full 3 1/2 rotations, missing the last half. This could go wrong in so many ways since I suck at recovering from mistakes.
My feet hit the ice but I'm facing the wrong direction, Victor noticed before I even hit the ground already moving towards me. I try to skate forwards, but before I even get the chance, I keep spinning, making me fall sideways, hitting the side of my head on the ice. "Shoyo!"
Victor POV
I watched as Hinata went up in the air, I could tell he wasn't going to get enough rotation for a triple axel like he wanted, when he got to three rotations I got worried, an axel starts forwards and ends backwards, but the way he was going was starting forward and ending forward. With his recovery skills...it wasn't looking to good. I start to go towards him when his feet hit the ice, then he tilts. Then he falls. His head hit the ice with a sickening thud. "Shoyo!" He stays slumped over on the ice. "Ow." Hinata says quietly. He sits up slowly and I can already tell how dazed he is. "Shoyo, are you ok?" I ask. He looks over his shoulder at me. "I'm fine." He says. I feel myself go pale, seeing the blood drip down his face. "Sh*t, come on, we're going." I says picking him up gently. I take off my skates and grab the first aid kit to patch him up before shoving him into the car. I shout a quick goodbye as we leave.
I take out my phone and quickly call Yuri. 'Hello?' Yuri answers. "Hey Yuri, so don't be mad, but I'm heading over to the doctor-" I tried to explain. 'What? What happened? Is it for you or Shoyo, how bad is it?' Yuri freaks out. "Nothing bad, Shoyo just hit his head in the ice, I want to make sure he doesn't have a concussion and to check the cut. I'm sure everything is fine." Victor said trying to be calming. Yuri was silent for a few seconds. 'Just hurry back home soon.' Yuri said finally. I giggled a little. "I'll see you soon." I say hanging up.
I hate leaving people on cliffhangers when it comes to characters being hurt so I grabbed so,e stuff from chapter six to make a not so intense cliffhanger. See you next month?
