Sam looks up from his laptop, "Yeah Dean what's up?" Dean walked farther into the library, Miracle was curled up underneath the first table where Sam was sitting, on his laptop. Dean sits down across from Sam, "It's about Cas."
Sam moves, uncomfortable, "What about him?" Dean looks down at the table, and he runs his fingers on the names, carved into the wood.

Castiel

That name wouldn't leave Dean's mind. What he said before he....you know.
"It's about what he said before he-" Dean trailed off, watching the name of the table, "he died."
"Dean, I miss him too." Sam says trying to look Dean in the eyes. Dean's head shoots up.
"No, Sam, it's not that! Well I mean, I miss him, but that's not what's bothering me. He said something. Something that I've thought about but not really it's just-"
"Dean! Calm down and continue." Sam says, stopping Dean from getting ahead of himself.
Dean looks as Sam, his Hazel eyes helpless. Dean takes a deep breath.

"He said 'I love you.'"

"What? As a friend?" Sam responded, now intrigued in the topic. "No, Sam! He said he loved me. That I changed him. Then the empty-" Dean held back tears, "took him. I didn't even get the chance to say-" Dean closes his eyes,

"I didn't get to say it back."

"Dean, you need to calm down! It's okay, but he's gone, Dean. We can't get him back." Sam states, taking all of the information he just received, "He's gone."
"I just-" Dean choked, "I need him back man, I just cant live without him."
Sam stands up, a concerned look on his face, "I'll try to find something." He walks away, looking over his shoulder to look at Dean. He's so desperate, his eyes are full of sorrow and regret. Sam knows it wasn't Dean's fault, but Dean didn't.

Dean sat at the table a while longer after Sam walked away. "There has to be something he can do." Dean was thinking as he walked back to his room. The walk felt long and stale, because Dean was focused on one thing, well, one being.
Dean was at his bedroom door now. He stood there a moment and studied it, thinking about how many times Cas would have seen the same thing he was seeing now. Then, he put his hand on the handle, opened the door,

and he was there.
