Chapter Two: Five Degrees Hotter (Johan)

"You shouldn't toy with me like that Maj, I can't control myself when it comes to you, hell, you haven't even done that much, and look at my reaction."
I'm so close to her, that I'm basically breathing in her breaths. I can feel how warm my body is, telling me that I am red all over. She took a second to recognize what I had said and following the realization was a small gasp.
"I- I'm sorry, Johan I didn't realize I was doing-"
"You knew what you were doing Maj, you don't just say stuff like that," I say cutting her off.
She broke eye contact, looking at the floor becoming red, either from embarrassment or my statement before. Ah, shit she's really cute. What are we gonna do now? I can't get too angry at her when she looks like that. Fuck. Now I feel bad.
"Look, Johan, I apologize for teasing you but I only did it once."
"You only did it once? A-are you joking?"
She can't be that dense. I was doing a terrible job at hiding my reactions. She even said she could read me like a book. What the fuck is going on?
"Are you really that stupid Maj?"
No. That's not what I meant Maj I'm sorry. You have my head all jumbled. I can't even say the things I mean. She looks up at me, taken aback by what I said.
"I guess I am really that stupid Johan. Sorry for being such an inconvenience."
Her voice broke on the last word and her face filled with what I can only explain as anger and hurt. Her eyes had a few tears silently fall from them. Great job headass, you made her cry. Wow, even crying she's still... perfect. She somehow got even prettier. Ok shut up brain, stop admiring her and admit your mistake-
"I-"
I take my hand and try to wipe the tears off.
"Maj I'm s-"
She snatches my wrist quickly after my hand makes contact and squeezes, throwing my arm away from her.
"Shut the fuck up Johan. Don't talk to me again."
She storms off, glaring at me before she makes the turn and I no longer see her. Her eyes were like daggers, I am lucky she didn't take matters into her own hands and kill me. BUT HOLY CHRIST WHY WAS THAT SO HOT. NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR A BONER. SHE JUST TOLD ME SHE NEVER WANTS TO SPEAK TO ME AND THIS IS HOW I REACT. OK. Ok, chill Johan. You just gotta go to the bathroom and wait it out, no one is here, no one sees you. We're cool, cool as a cucumber. I start making my way to the bathroom but before I can, Jay, my best friend, comes running full speed at me, flailing and screaming. He runs right into me, toppling us both over. We land on the floor and he's on top of me.
Looking down he says, "Dude did you get a-"
"Not from this."
"-from this..? Then what-"
"Maj yelled at me"
"Maj- and you got a boner from that?"
"Not my best moment alright? Jay? What are you-"
"This is too funny not to tell Hiko"
"Yo! Chill, Maj, and Hiko are best friends, dumbass," I said snatching his phone.
"Bro, Jay get off me. I need to go to the bathroom."
"I bet if you hit her cute friend Rhea up, she'd gladly help you get rid of that," he said, winking.
"AUGH, JAY NO. THAT'S DISGUSTING MAN, GROSS!"
"You're just saying that because you are a virgin," Jay said in a singsong voice.
"No, it's because I have standards, unlike you and your horny coping mechanisms."
"Coping mechanisms...?"
"Yes Jay, you are depressed, stop having sex and go to therapy," I say in a rather serious tone.
"HEY! I haven't had sex in a week and a half-"
"Jay, I'm a virgin-"
"AND YOU ARE AS MENTALLY ILL AS I AM"
"BRO! JUST LET ME GO TO THE BATHROOM, THEN WE CAN TALK ABOUT GROUP THERAPY"
"OK! CHILL! Just don't jerk off in the bathroom, someone might walk in and it'll get weird" he said way too seriously.
"Are you speaking from personal experience...? Or...?"
"No.. maybe.. it doesn't matter, just take my advice"
"Okay dude, see you. DO NOT CALL RHEA!" I scream as he walks away.
"WHATEVER BRO," he says turning the corner.
Ok. Where is the nearest bathroom? Don't tell me I'm lost. No, I go here. There's a bathroom back the way I came when I was bringing Maj to the nurse.
I walk back the way I came and come upon a bathroom. As I go to open the bathroom door I slam my forehead into it. Fuck, it's locked. The next closest bathroom is the way Jay and Maj went. You are screwed, Johan. Well, time to go get beat up by a pretty girl. I walk back to the nurse's office and stare at the corner that was taken quickly by two people just minutes before. FUCK. WHAT IF THEY BOTH SEE ME?? THAT WILL BE SO AWKWARD. OMG OMG OMG. HOLY HELL. OK, CALM DOWN JOHAN. REMEMBER COOL AS A CUCUMBER. Cool as a cucumber. I turn the corner and to my delight, no one is there. I let out a sigh of relief and walk to the bathroom. Thankfully, this one was unlocked but as I walk in, there stands my older brother, Felix, sticking his tongue down some poor guy's throat. They disconnected and stared at me as if it weren't a public bathroom.
"Oh, it's you," he said, turning back to the guy.
"Um..? Do you know him..?" The tiny rando said.
"He doesn't look like anyone you know?" My brother asked.
"He looks like a basic white boy?"
"Ouch, sorry little bro... guess Luke thinks your basic." My brother said.
"Too bad for me too though, because we look exactly the same."
"Oh! Felix, I'm sorry I didn't realize he was your little brother. What grade are you in little man?" The thin boy asked.
"I'm a senior, and like a foot taller than you. Don't call me little man when you look like a 14-year-old." I said, getting pissed.
"Ah? You guys are twins? Felix is a senior-"
"No, Felix failed a grade, he's 18."
"He- failed a-? Grade?"
"Yeah, he's fucking stupid-"
"Shut your mouth dickhead" he said pulling me into a headlock.
"Before you cost me a fun night" he growled, lowering his voice to where I can only hear.
"Whatever horn dog" I rolled my eyes.
He fluffed my hair and said "Says the one who came to the bathroom because of a boner"
"Shut up- at least I'm not in here actively trying to get one. What, can't get it up quick enough big man? Having some issues?"
"Watch it, Johan, I may not be in martial arts but I could kick your ass"
"Ok, you tell yourself that buddy," I say patting his shoulder.
"I'm gonna go into the stall and wait this out, don't start fucking in the school bathroom. Oh and Felix?"
"Yeah?"
"Raise your standards."
As I close the stall door I hear a tiny scoff from Luke and some bickering between them. I'm assuming that Luke is the one that storms out because Felix screams "Fuck" and slams the door.
~~After Lunch~~
I'm going to class and it's math. Christ Almighty. My next class is with Maj, Rhea, and Jay. This is gonna be a disaster.
I get to the open door, walk through, and put my stuff down. And to my demise remember Luke is in my class. Kill me now. Luke comes over and flirts with Jay, while Jay ignores him, basically drooling over Rhea. Luke sees me and looks me up and down, remembering what I said about him earlier.
"I'm so glad you were able to fix your issue, Johan."
This piqued Jay's interest, pulling him from the enchant of Rhea's flowy hair.
"What issue, Luke? You being with my brother hasn't been fixed yet." I say spitefully.
"I meant your boner you had earlier. What were you doing that got you so excited?" His eyes practically sparkled with hate.
"I- um- nothing that you need to care about, sorry but you can't have both brothers, one will have to do" I glanced over to Maj and see that Rhea has become beet red, informing me that she had overheard.
"Sorry, but I don't want you. You may look like your brother but you aren't him" he says this trying to hurt me.
"I don't want to be my brother, he's the disappointment. I letter in two sports and he smokes in the bathroom."
"Someone sounds jealous of how much fun we are having"
"Okay tiny. But if you ever show up at my house and I answer the door I'm locking it. Also, go away please, class is starting."
He scoffs and walks away obviously pissed at my comments. I knock on Rhea's desk and apologize for what she heard. She plays dumb and pretends not to know what I am talking about. I catch the burn of Maj's gaze, and my face quickly becomes red. Augh I have to control my reactions. This panic is apparent because Rhea looks at me worriedly and it pulls a laugh from Maj, which she quickly covers with a cough. Phew, at least she doesn't want to murder me. I don't know what I would do if she was out for blood, other than cry, obviously. I am just happy she hates me normally. The teacher is at the front of the room and informs us that we will have a project on a mathematician. The project will be done in pre-made groups and our partners will have the same grade as us, or close to it. That crosses out Maj and Jay, for opposing reasons. The teacher starts listing off pairs.
"Jay and Hero"
"Rhea and Kyra"
"Luke and Greg"
"Maj and Johan"
Shit. When did I have the same math grade as her, last time I checked I had a B. Shit. Shit. Shit. She is gonna be livid. I fearfully glance over at Maj and she looks murdery again. I'm dead. I'm so dead. She's gonna kill me. Well, I'm gonna just accept death.
