Over the next few days, you took off your cast and walked around the tents. It wasn't easy at first, but you were still thankful that you had a leg after the attack. The child would always accompany you on your walking trips and assist you where it could help.
Once you had finally healed, you chatted with Grimm about what you can do to help with the ritual more. Grimm thought about it and asked you to accompany him, this is where we are now.
"Awfully chilly after October, you sure you don't need any more winter protection?" You patted Grimm's shoulder (Or knee if you're small) to reassure him. "I'm fine Grimm, I've lived here all my life without any clothing in the winter."
"Yes, but it still worries me." He continued walking, you following behind holding the child as well. He soon reached a door that behind it laid an arena. "If you want to help, you must be properly trained to deal with anymore Grimmkin." You nodded as he handed you a wooden nail, grabbing one for himself as well
"Now you have a nail but you don't have any experience wielding it. To properly fight is half the battle. If you didn't know how to dance, it wouldn't be reasonable to put you in a ballroom." He spoke with the utmost seriousness but still gentle like the warming rays of light in Greenpath.
"So for your first task, hold the nail like so." He held the nail close but still elegantly. You nodded and followed suit, holding your nail exactly like he did. "Very good, now I want you to point it at me, like I just stole your geo."
At this request you pointed your nail at him, which he swiftly knocked from your hand (Claw) and raised his nail on your chin. "You lose, as soon as you point your nail at a bug, prepare for them to fight." He gave you your nail back and got back in his previous position.
"Now let's try it again, but this time try and be ready for my attack." You got back in your stance and muttered, "Alright." Before pointing it at Grimm. He attacked in the same motion as before but this time you were ready for his attack. You deflected his nail and held it down on the ground.
"Very good, but at this point I could still punch you in the face with my free hand." He raised his nail up and put it away. "I think that's all the training for today, let's go get something to eat." "Alright Grimm, thanks for helping me help you." He nodded solemnly and took your hand, going to the dining hall for supper.
(Finally out of writers block, woooo! This probably wasn't worth the wait but I didn't know where to go. Besides that, hope you enjoyed and see you next time!
