"Who the hell?!?" David asked about to stand up before I grabbed the sleeve to his jacket "don't !" I whispered with tears about to fall "what's wrong?" He asked in a low voice "it's Matt" I said with my voice crackling "who?" He asked giving me a look of confusion "my ex. He left a year ago and I wrote him a letter saying I was leaving him" "why did you leave him?" He asked. I looked down ashamed of what had happened when I was with Matthew but I pulled my sleeve up to show him the scars on my wrist "what happened?" He asked pissed off "Matt abused me and he told me if I left him that he would kill me. That was after I sent the letter when he wrote back saying he was going to kill me I ran" I said crying into his chest as he tried to calm me down "DAMN IT BRAEANNE I KNOW YOUR THERE!" Matt yelled while banging on the door " I'll answer it you hide" he said removing me from his chest I turn and ran to the hidden down by the stairs and waited for David to let me know it was ok to come out. "What do you want?!" David asked when he opened the door "oh umm is Cassi here?" "No. Cassi hasn't lived here in over a year. She moved to France last I heard" he lied "do you know how to get a hold of her?" Matt asked though clinched teeth "no. Can I go back to bed now?" "Oh yeah sorry about the banging" "Its cool. Bye" he said shutting the door. About a minute later david is in front of the door "he's gone" he whispered as I pushed the door open and crawled into his lap crying "it's ok he's gone now. He won't hurt you" he said wrapping his arms around me when something soft touched my face. I opened my eyes to see two black wings growing out of his back as my eyes widened.
