It's been one hundred years since the out break occurred. Almost three generations of rebuilding of what was left of the world. I wasn't there personally but the old folks would sit down and tell the younger generations stories; gruesome stories about the out break. Or what it's called now, the Cleansing. It took less than a week to destroy everything. One week to rip family apart, with one bite at a time. The world as they knew it came crashing down. A lot of people were killed, chewed on, and most of the time left behind with their existence, gone like one gentle breeze of the wind. But that couldn't stop humanity from rebuilding. It couldn't stop them from pushing forwarded and taking back what used to be theirs. So you must be wondering what happened after all those years? Obviously man kind survived. But to what extent?
Life was tough. Kids were trained with a gun the moment they turned twelve. If you're thinking that zombies no longer exist, then you'll be sadly mistaken. Out of 90 million people that once roamed just The United States alone before The Cleansing, there's no way all the Munchers would be gone by this point. It's not like how it used to be when it first started, but it's enough to the point we still have to defend ourselves. The virus still hangs in the air and continues to be a deadly threat. A cure was never found since the Government no longer existed and what was once the Military fell just like the rest of the population.
Some of us lives under the ground, hidden away in bunkers that once belonged to the old Government or they've built themselves. They believe being underground lessens the chances of the Munchers getting to them. Some live high in the Mountains, believing its easier to defend against them and less chances of a hoard taking them all down. Some live on the ground, surrounded by massive metal walls that took years to build and is daily inspected with on the clock guards heavily arms to the tooth and nail. And others have taken to the ocean, living on old ships that merge into one huge vessel. Doesn't matter what Clan you're in, we all help each other. The moment we turn on each other, we can all expect to fall like The Old Days.
