Valerie's P.O.V.
1 Week Later
"It is time to get up!" My Mom says shaking me awake, "We have to leave in 45 mintes so please get ready." My Mom then walked out of my room, closing the door behind her.
I got up and out of bed, where are we going? I thought before realizing... Today was my FIRST day of rehersal for tour!!!
I walked fastly over to my dresser which was across from my bed. I grabbed my clothes and quickly got changed. I grabbed my dance bag, a small theater bag full of snacks, a change of clothes, and other stuff. At rehearsal they will be giving us our scripts!
We hopped in to the car, turned on some show tunes and drove to Philly.
(We are going to say rehearsals are in Philly (aka Philadelphia) because why not.)
Time Skip to at the place of rehearsals
When we got to Philly we found parking at a parking lot hotel thing (idk what they are called) and then walked a block to the building. It was the Kimmel Center, we were using the backstage rooms for rehearsals.
(Idk what backstage The Kimmel Center actually looks like but I'm going to make something up from Backstage Broadway (aka Bway) show videos I've seen an my imagination)
After signing in and everything, we went to a big area where a table was set up with names at each area.
"Hi, I'm Jimmy and I will be directing our production, oh you must be Valerie, of course our July, well you can have a seat right here and Mom, if you May like you can go sit in one of the few dressing rooms with some other parents and talk to them," he smiled pointing to my seat and showing my Mom into a dressing room.
I sat down, putting my bag on the back of the chair, pulling out a pencil and my water bottle.
As I put my water bottle on the floor, the girl sitting next to me said, "Hi, my name is Carla Jones! I am playing Tessie, who are you playing?"
"Hi, I'm Valerie Higgins and I am going to be playing July!" I replied.
The girl next to her, on her other side then said, "Hi, I'm Janis Mori, and I am going to play Annie!"
The other girls all introduced themselves and I learned that,
Janis's alternates was Morgan Sue.
Carla's alternate was her twin Sara.
Julianna Lin (who is playing Molly) alternates are Anne Bayo and Jessi Keli.
My alternate is a girl named Jane Red.
Elizabeth Duan (Not names after Eliza Schuyler, she plays Duffy) alternate is a girl named Chloe Lorain.
I met a few other girls but they had to go into the other read through room (for the alternates and understudies) to do their read through.
As the alternates were walking out, Jane, And Morgan gave me, Carla and Janus weird looks before laughing and walking inside.
We all officially sat down in our chairs and the director said, "Hello everyone, as you know I am the director Jimmy, as I go into the other room and give the others an introduction and everything with my assistant here, Fred, I want you all to go around in a circle and say your name, characters name, and some fun facts about you. Begin!"
So we go around in a circle and I meet everybody who will be acting with me on the days I go on stage!
After we introduced ourselves, we started the read through, learning stuff about our lines and lyrics that we needed to know.
After the read through, I was so tired, I fell asleep on the car ride home and woke up the next day in my bed.
A/N: how are you liking this book so far? I putt the full cast list below. Only some characters will be important, others I put down to fill the roles. So here is the cast part that you missed the introduction for. Also, with Molly, we have three girls (in the story) playing Molly because Child Labor laws, if you would like I can make a chapter explaining all of this so you know why I put alternates and that stuff.
Do note all characters are a fiction if my imagination, some will be based off of people I know, and yes the tour did actually happen, and no I am not going to use anyone from that cast, they may share some names but this is not how I would actually portray people in the acting industry in real life, this is just meant for entertainment purposes!
