For those who might not know him, his name is Marc Pahun Jiyacharoen. He played the role of Itt in My Gear and Your Gown.

Third Person POV

Marc blamed himself totally for why his cousin Khaotung or P'Khao as he would address him, ended up in the hospital. If only he had not been too gullible and trusting, he would not have divulged the location of his cousin to those goons.

It turned out that these goons were hired by the loan shark from whom his father owed a lot of money.

His father had promised to pay them with the antique heirlooms that his wife had left behind when she passed away but it was in Khaotung's safekeeping and only Khaotung had the key to the post office box which contained them.

And so the goons had come looking for Khaotung but he had gone into hiding. It was only Marc who knew where he was because Khaotung had trusted Marc not to divulge his hiding place to anyone.

Unfortunately the goons had tricked Marc by saying that they were businessmen who were interested in buying the heirlooms for double the actual value and urgently needed to talk to Khaotung about it.

Khaotung had recognized the goons from afar and had started to make a run for it. Marc had called 911 when the goons had started shooting at Khaotung who was running in a zigzag manner with his head down low.

The goons had to run from the scene when they heard the police sirens. An ambulance had been called for when they saw the bleeding Khaotung on the ground.

Marc had followed the ambulance to the hospital and had kept watch over Khaotung throughout his unconscious state but had to go home to take care of personal business. He had promised that he would come back as soon as he had taken care of what needed to be done.

Marc felt absolutely guilty and blamed himself for the condition that his cousin P'Khao was in and stayed at his bedside for the last three days that he was unconscious.

He only left his bedside when he had to eat his own meals at the hospital cafeteria and when visiting hours were over.

On the third day when he came back from eating his breakfast at the hospital cafeteria, he was so happy to see P'Khao conscious and actually eating from a porridge bowl.

"P'Khao! You're awake!" he rushed over to Khaotung's side.

"I've been awake for a while now," said Khaotung. "An intern has come to see me and examined me and said I could start eating soft food."

"I'm so relieved to hear that," Marc said. "P'Khao I can't begin to tell you how sorry..."

"Don't be," Khaotung interrupted Marc. "It's not like you deliberately wanted those goons to find me. They had tricked you so it's not your fault."

"I still want to kick myself for being so stupid and gullible," Marc said, his eyebrows meeting in a frown.

Before Khaotung could respond to that they heard a brief knock on the door and a staff in a doctor's white coat entered the room.

For those who might not know him, his name is Pawin Kulkarunyawich. He played the role of Pai, the medical student in My Gear Your Gown and the love interest of Itt played by Marc Pahun above.

"Mr. Thanawat?" the doctor said as he approached Khaotung's bed.

"Yes, doctor," Khaotung replied.

"Hi, I'm Doctor Kulkarunyawich, but just call me Doctor K. That's how everyone else calls me," said the doctor as he held out his hand to Khaotung.

Khaotung took it and Doctor K continued, "Your primary care physician, Dr. Sivakorn, will be out of the country for a week to attend an international conference in Los Angeles. He has appointed Intern Jutamat and myself to take turns giving you medical attention during the time that he is gone."

Khaotung nodded, wondering when Intern Jutamat was coming back with the pouch of heirlooms that he had so kindly agreed to pick up for him from the post office box.

"How soon will I be well enough to go home?" was Khaotung's primary concern.

"It depends on how quickly your wound heals," Doctor K replied.

As Doctor K was talking he happened to notice that his patient had a visitor. He nodded to the visitor who nodded back his greeting.

"Is it okay for me to bring him regular food from outside if he doesn't like hospital food?" Marc spoke for the first time, addressing Doctor K.

Marc could not understand why he was feeling nervous just talking to Doctor K, why his heart was beating so fast especially when Doctor gave his full attention to him to answer his question.

"Are you saying that your friend doesn't like the food that we serve him here?" Doctor K asked, raising one eyebrow but trying to make it imperceptible.

"I never said that!" Khaotung protested, glaring at his cousin Marc.

"He is my cousin, not a friend," Marc was quick to correct Doctor K's false assumption.

"P'Khao! I said IF you didn't like the hospital food," Marc said feeling a bit upset and regretting that he ever asked the question. "Doctor K is quick to jump to conclusions. Not a good habit for someone in his profession."

"Are you criticizing me???" this time Doctor K did not bother to hide raising his eyebrow.

"No, no, no, Doctor K, I didn't mean to make it sound that way," Marc said although he knew that he was lying and he was sure that Doctor K knew it as well.

"Well, to answer that question, yes, it is okay to bring him food from outside. Be aware though that the food we serve here is strictly reviewed by our resident registered dietitian in order to ensure the quick recovery of our patients," Doctor K said, meeting Marc's eyes intently.

"I'm sure that is the case, Doctor K," Marc said politely.

Marc wondered how old Doctor K was. He looked too young to be a doctor. He looked like he should still be in college.

While Marc was pondering on that, Doctor K had turned his attention back to Khaotung.

"I will take your vital signs for now and take a quick look under the dressing on your head to make sure that your wound is not developing any infection," Doctor K announced to Khaotung. "Are you experiencing any kind of pain right now?"

"I have a dull pain in my head where my wound is," Khaotung admitted, "but it is bearable."

After Doctor K finished his examination he said to Khaotung, "Your vital signs are all within normal range except for the dull pain that you mentioned earlier. If the pain changes into an uncomfortable level, be sure to press your call light and ask the nurse who comes in to give you a pain medication. The pain medication order has already been incorporated into your chart so she will know what dose to give you and how often."

"Thank you, Doctor K," said Khaotung.

"Absolutely," Doctor K replied and then turned to Marc. "I would advise you not to bring in any food from outside for your cousin."

Marc nodded but was unable to hide the frown on his face. Marc could not decide whether to hate Doctor K or to...... or to what??? Did he actually find Doctor K very attractive?

"Hmmmmmm......" Marc turned to see Khaotung wearing a teasing grin.

"What???" Marc asked defensively.
