As I walked down the stairs, I was surprised to see that my mum had made pasta. I guess she knew that it was one of my favourites, obviously no tomato sauce though. 'I hope you like pasta,' I mumbled to Dream, who was walking down the stairs behind me. Dream nodded and we went to sit down at the table.
From then on, things went smoothly. We both breezed through the questions like naturals. Sometime things got kinda awkward, especially when my dad asked where we had our first kiss. In my head, I was saying upstairs, in my bedroom 20 minutes ago, but Dream made up a whole tale about the beach.
'Speaking of the beach, that's a nice idea for where we can go tomorrow,' my mum exclaimed grinning. I stole a quick glance at Dream who made eye contact with me. He pulled a face and mouthed 'sorry' to me. The beach trip tomorrow was going to be very interesting, I could tell.

After dessert, I was still exhausted from my flight, and George noticed it. We both went to bed at the same time, to avoid any more questions from George's parents. I had done quite enough lying for one day. We both collapsed in bed and shuffled to the furthest side to avoid any awkwardness. The downside, however, was that neither of us got any duvet.
'Dude, can I have at least have some duvet, please?' George pleaded, his voice muffled. 'I would give you some if I had any,' I groaned. George sighed and shivered. We both tried to sleep, but it was way too cold to sleep without a duvet. 'Look, if we sleep closer together, we can both get duvet,' George compromised. I chuckled and how weird George sounded. 'Dream! You know I don't mean it like that!'
'I know, but it's still funny.' I edged closer to the middle of the bed and reached my hand out to grab some duvet. I froze when I felt George's elbow touch mine. It seemed like he'd frozen as well because everything was silent for the next 5 seconds. 'Uh, I'm gonna sleep now.' George said, moving his arm away from mine quickly. My stomach felt strange for the rest of that night and I concluded that I had eaten something bad during the day.
I woke up to the great sound of George's alarm clock, high-pitched and unnecessarily loud. I rubbed my eyes and gasped. George's arm was across my chest. It seemed like I may have gasped a bit too loud, as he woke up and moved his arm to stop the alarm clock. He sighed groggily and squinted at the light coming through the cracks between the curtains. I sat up to go and take a shower. 'I call the shower first!' I screeched jumping straight out of bed. George groaned and closed his eyes.
Exactly an hour later, we were walking to the beach. There were no cars on the road, and everyone else along the street also looked like they were heading for the same place. George gently nudged me, slipping his hand carefully into mine. I felt the warmth flood through my body, as we walked hand in hand. I stole a few glances at his face, as I desperately wanted to know how he felt for some reason. I felt sick to my stomach, like I was going to throw up. I silently hoped that the beach would put my mind off it.
My parents rented us towels and beach umbrellas and found a nice, secluded spot on the beach. George removed his shirt and shoes, while I kicked back and relaxed on the sand. George began sprinting, heading straight for the sea. 'Race you!' he yelled, getting his five second head start, while I kicked of my shoes and took my t-shirt off. I ran and narrowly beat him there. I laughed at George. 'How did you win? I started first,' George complained, poking me in the side. I wheezed at this gesture. 'I guess you're just too slow.' He poked me again and laughed. 'Your laugh is actually hilarious,' he commented. 'Shut up!' I chuckled breathlessly, poking him. We both calmed down as the ocean lapped over our feet, the sun's rays beaming down onto our skin.
'Let's go in deeper,' George suggested, dragging me by the wrist. Soon enough, the water was chest high. I splashed him and immediately turned away when he attempted to splash me back. He giggled and I laughed, turning back. I regretted this, as salty water filled my eyes. I shook my head chuckling. However, while we were having fun, something unexpected happened.
A large wave was heading right for us. One that would throw us off our feet. George gasped and I pulled him closer to me.

I suddenly felt the force of the wave crash down on my body. My feet slipped and I flailed, clutching onto Dream's hand, hoping it would give me stability. I was wrong. I pulled Dream over, and I lay panting in the shallow water seconds later, the tide slowly lapping in over my legs. I was about to get up and realised it wasn't going to be that easy. His head was positioned on my chest, his hands clutching onto me for dear life. Our legs were tangled, and I chuckled with embarrassment. I rolled him off me gently.
'Dream, you good?' I asked, sitting up after realising he wasn't saying anything, my legs still tangled with his. I placed my hand on his cheek, and all of a sudden, he sat up spluttering and coughing. It was a second or two before he realised how compromising our position was. He untangled our legs quickly, turning away from my gaze, his cheeks a dusty pink colour. I stood up and offered him a hand, my face still burning with embarrassment. Butterflies were swarming my stomach, and I felt like I could choke any second.
He took my hand, almost pulling me over in the process and I immediately let go as soon as possible. Neither of us said anything for the next minute, we just stood next to each other avoiding eye contact. 'Uh, sorry George...' Dream mumbled, still avoiding my eyes. I giggled nervously and accepted his apology, even though he did nothing wrong. My eyes darted around the beach, looking for something to do until my eyes fell on an ice-cream van. 'Hey Dream, want ice-cream?' I asked, nudging him slightly. It looked like he was still recovering from what happened earlier. He shrugged, so I grabbed his arm and dragged him.
