I made my way back out into the waiting room of the ICU. I picked up my coat from the chair and headed for the doors. Suddenly my path was blocked. I looked up and realised I was staring Nathan in the face.
"Hey!" I said failing to conceal my surprise.
"Hi." His voice was deadpan and he sounded angry or was it upset. I could never tell.
"How'd you get in here?"
"Well Benedict has a new found, long lost brother. That he's yet to find out about."
I laughed. "Oh. You would think that the security would be a lot better." He made no response so I continued talking out of nervousness. "He's sitting up now if you want to go see him ?" Nathan shook his head and gave me a stern look. "Do you love me?"
"I'm sorry what?" I stumbled backwards and tried to regain my balance. "Of course I.."
He cut me of "Then say it."
"I can't." He flashed me a knowing look. "not here," I continued "they think I'm his girlfriend." I gestured behind me to Benedict's room.
He nodded his head, biting his bottom lip. "Look I hope he gets better. And when he does that he lets you live with him because we're over."
I couldn't help but let out a small gasp. "You're acting crazy Nathan. I just wanted to see him!"
He put a hand on my shoulder but his grip was uncomfortably tight "You love him more than me. That's okay, I always knew that I was just a distraction. I love you, always have and always will so I want it to work out for you both. Goodbye Jen. " His eyes welled up with tears and I could tell he was trying his best not to allow his voice to crack. I opened my mouth to argue but I knew he was only telling the truth "goodbye Nathan."

Benedict's POV

I was slowly getting better, most of the cuts and bruises had healed and I was beginning to walk again. My memory was slowly but surely coming back and all I could think about for most of the time was Jennifer.
I hadn't seen much of her since I got out of the hospital, she had told me that she was staying with a friend in London until she sorted everything out.

I was sitting in my apartment reading when there was a small knock at my door. "I'll be just a minute !" I shouted putting down my book.
I open the door keeping the latch on.
"Can I help you?" Suddenly I realised who was standing in front of me. "Jen what's up?"
She shrugged her shoulders "I heard that there's a little cafe near here that it usually really quiet how's about a catch up?"
