Testing the Waters

Dan's P.O.V.

I'm just lying on the couch, you know in my browsing position, when my roommate Phil saunters into the room carrying his laptop and a Dan and Phil mug. I just look at him, those swaying hips, the way his fringe falls to the side of his face so perfectly. Half of our fans suspect that we are lovers and the others think that we are just good friends. I know that I shouldn't have these feelings for my friend but yet I can't stop myself from thinking that I want to spend the rest of my life married to him. I know that I'm gay but I can't tell if Phil is gay or straight or bisexual. Phil plopps down next to me and assumes his browsing position about a foot away from me.

So finally I decide to test the waters just a little bit.

"Phil?"

"Huh?" My roommate stares back at me with his big grayish blue eyes and his lips are still parted from speaking. Those big, soft lips just waiting for- "Dan?"

"Yeah?" Shit nearly caught fantasizing. "What?"

"You were going to say something?"

"Oh yeah.." I'm panicking now that I realize I have nothing planned to say. "What if we go to the party that Cat's having down the street tonight? I'd really like to have some fun. We haven't had any in such a long while."

"Uh sure Dan but we can't drink too much or we might do things that we'll regret." (Remember that he will regret things)

Oh no was I too forward? He must think I'm a total freak now. I have to stop messing up or he'll start hating me. Now I realize that Phil is staring at me, waiting for a response, with those big gray- "Dan?"

"Oh yeah no drunk driving or getting into fights. Those are definitely things we'll regret."

"Kay. We still have a little time though." Phil answers, eyes still glued to mine. "I'll probably take a shower."

Phil rises and moves to walk to the door, his perfect body rippling under his clothes, clothes I wish were off and not covering my dreams. I may just be deaf or imagining things but I swear I heard Phil say something along the lines of, "thats not what I meant by things we'd regret."
