Cold.
The cold morning air biting at the edge of my duvet, creeping in silently. Is the first thing that I notice when my eyes flutter open.
I can hear my alarm on the other side of the room vibrating in time. A silent call to coax me out of bed and switch it off. Maybe if I just wait two more minutes it will stop.
Waiting.
Has it been two minutes yet?
It's still vibrating.
I huff and roll out of my bed. Trudging over to my desk and switching the alarm off. I walk over to my mirror and access my morning face. My cheeks are a little bit bloated, eyes still squinting slightly from the harsh sunlight peering in. My hair tangled and twisted from my obviously very energetic dream.
I grab my face wash and toiletries and head over to the connected bathroom. I'm not usually this tired in the mornings, but I don't remember having a particularly bad sleep. I wonder what that means. I splash the water on my face and proceed to wash my face. Many thoughts run through my mind, it's the end of the first school week. First full week at my new school, in my new house, in the new town. Luckily Taehyung, my best friend since literal birth, also goes to this school. Its big and scary and I probably would be dropping out already at this point if it wasn't for him.
I rush through washing my body and brushing my teeth and sit at my desk and get out my makeup. Its school so I tone down my usual makeup and go for a subtle smokey eye, long eyelashes and my nude brownish lip liner. I brush my hair and sweep my curtain bangs to the side. I desperately need to learn how to style those. I throw on some loose jeans, baby tee and a fish net top underneath.
I grab my back pack, keys and head to my car out front of the block of flats. I quickly search up local owned cafes near me and find one that is easy to get to as I drive to college. I connect my phone to the aux and play my music as I drive out of the driveway and head off. (You can choose anything but in my mind the first song to play is Fly to my room - BTS)
I pull into the cafe shop and leave my car with my purse and phone. The cafe is reasonably small with vines crawling up the wall outside and joining together above the antique wooden door. Hot air greets me as I push open the door, different smells dull all my other senses as I enter the cafe. The interior is cute, I notice the pictures on the wall as I look everywhere except the man behind the counter. Plants hang from the ceilings, I smile as it reminds me of my room. Reluctantly I look at the man as I walk towards the counter.
I try not to blush as his warm smile invades my thoughts. His kind eyes dancing in the light. Of course my humble attempt at resisting the blush only led to the redness taking over.
"Good morning, what can I get for you this morning" he said, a slight huskiness to his voice. 'Oh um, could I just get, just get an Iced latte and uh-'. I cringe at myself as I look up the list of items behind him. I try not to focus on his eyes still looking at me. I decide on a cream cheese and salmon bagel and order. 'Can I get your name please'. I hesitate and look into his eyes confused. 'For the order, that is'. I mentally curse at my stupidity and rush to give him my name.
It doesn't take long for the order to be complete and the guy calls me up to retrieve it. Our hands brush slightly as he hands it to me. I flinch at the coldness of his stone like skin and quickly turn around to leave. I throw a quick thank you over my shoulder, and enter my car to start the now uninterrupted journey to school. We know what I will be thinking about all day.
I should've got his name.
My two classes blur together as the professors lecture us on whatever it is they do. I glance at the clock on the bare walls, 1:10pm. The class should end now for lunch. I stare at the professor as if it might urge him to let us go. He looks at me and raises his eyebrows and nods.
Ew. Gross. Anyways, I start to pack my bag. He seems to notice and announces we can leave.
As I walk into the dining room I spot taehyung sat alone on a table and smile. It might seem sad that it's just us, but I suppose in some ways at least we have each other.
I silently walk up to him and shake his shoulders. 'Hi kid' I sing jokingly. He smacks my arm off his shoulder as I walk around to sit on the bench opposite him. 'I told you to stop calling me that. Seriously its weird'. We let out a giggle. 'You sound like a creep' he laughs at me as I roll my eyes. I briefly notice a loud laugh coming from a boy who I can't see the face of. I stare at his chestnut hair until Tae snaps me back to the present. 'Dude, y/n, what should we do tomorrow. It's the first weekend of the school year we have to do something.'
I don't reply for a minute, thinking of what we should do. I'm not too sure of what one could do in this town. I'm still new to everything.
Tae reaches over to my hand and plays with the rings on my finger. I smile at him and respond to his question. 'How about we check out the mall on Saturday?' He doesn't look too pleased. 'I mean we could shop around, buy some new clothes, eat out and maybe meet some people.' I plead trying to sell him the idea. His nose twitches in time with his dark floppy ears, seeming to be contemplating the idea.
Oh, I think I forgot to say. Taes a dog hybrid. He's got dark brown floppy ears that poke out from his dark brown floppy hair. His ears have highlights of lighter brown and musty brown which match his long furry tail.
Don't worry about the quality of his life. Hybrids are widely accepted into society these days and only a few hybrids have difficulties. Of course some go through unforgivable situations, but nowadays it is much better.
His head snaps up and a grin sweeps onto his face. 'I guess it's a reasonable idea,' he says. 'We might bump into Jimin...' the last part of his sentence turning into mumbles. His ears perk up at my confusion but he quickly stands up and walks around to the side of the table I'm sitting at. He leans down and whispers into my ear 'See you there beautiful, at around 1' his deep voice sounding much more sexy that it usually does. He must have heard my heart speed up as he says 'what's wrong with your heart little one' as his tail brushes around my waist and sends shivers down my spine. My throat tickles and I cough jolting me out of the trance Tae's predator instincts inflicted on me.
I whip around and push him away 'not cool Tae' I shout as he laughs walking away.
You finish off your lunch before you head off to your last lesson.
Calming down from the heat flush Tae tricked you into.
Heat flush...
Warm....
