Monica's pov

"Sir you being under arrest" I heard making me rush to the door

I got the and saw two officers standing opposite me and Dave

"For what" Dave said

"Attempted murder" one of the officers said

"What do you mean?"I said

"He's being suspected for attempted murder he has to come with us" the officer said

"Wait attempted murder for who" Dave said

"We will discuss that with you at the station but you have to come with us" the officer said taking out his cuffs

"But you ain't do nothing tho" I said as my eyes started to water

"It's alright Everything will be fine I promise" he said hugging me and I nodded my head

"I'll call you when I get there" he said as they put his hand cuffs

"Mhm"I said as they took him out and I shut the door

As I turned around I saw Kai behind me making me jump

"Why did the police take dada away" Kai said as she left me speechless

"They didn't he will be back"I said

"No they put him in handcuffs so that mean he's going to jail"she said as her eye started to water and I picked her up and placed her on the counter

"It's ok" I said rubbing her back

"Is he gonna come back"she said

"Yes I promise" I said as she nodded her head

Next morning

I woke up to my phone ringing making me get up and search for my phone

I found my phone under my pillow and answered the phone

"Hello?"I said with my eyes closed

"Monica"I heard Dave say making me open my eyes

"Dave what going on"I said

"They suspecting me of attempted murder"he said

"But for who" I said

"Jahking"he said

"What I thought he was dead"I said

"Apparently not" he said making me sigh

"I spoke to my lawyer and he said if I'm found guilty I'm looking at 15 years I'n prison" he said making heart drop to my ass

"What!?" I yelled making kairi jump from her sleep

"15 years?" I said as my voice shook

"That's if I'm found guilty" he said as I kept quiet because I didn't know how to react and I didn't want to stress and the phone cut
because the time was up

"Mommy was that daddy"Kai said as I shook my head

"Well I wanna speak to him"she said holding on to my arm

"Kai you can't right now"I said

"Why not" she said rubbing her eyes as her voice shook

"The next time he calls I promise I'll let you talk to him"I said as I hugged her and she nodded her head
