Charlie had read the note left by Angel instructing him that he should read his letter when their daughter turned seventeen and that she should read her letter at the same age.  She had turned seventeen today and so he called her downstairs.

"Yes daddy?" I called as ran down the stairs.

"How would you like to go La Push today for your birthday?  Your mom left us some letters to read on your seventeenth birthday and indicated they should be shared with the Quileute Tribe." Charlie asked.

"I can finally read the letter?" I asked excited.

"Yes my little Rose." Charlie answered.

Charlie had always been an awkward man which carried over to his first daughter but with this one he wasn't awkward at all.  Something about her just soothed him and made him feel comfortable with himself.

"Then let's go." I said happily as I rushed out to the police cruiser.

When we arrived at Billy's the Clearwater's were already there along with Quil and Embry. I was soon squeezed within an inch of my life in a group hug by Seth, Leah, Quil, Embry, and Jacob.

"I can't breath!" I cried out dramatically.

Sue made sure to feed us all before the birthday cake she had baked for me.  After that gifts were given to me by my family.  I made sure to thank everyone as I opened my gifts.

"This is one of your gifts from me my little Rose." Charlie said as he handed me a katana sword along with a letter.

"The sword belonged to your mother and she wanted you to have it.  She said the letter would explain it and everything else you need to know.  I'm going to read my own letter as well and Billy, she wanted you and the Tribe council to know whatever is in this letter." Charlie said.

Soon both Swan members were reading their letters.  They watched as Charlie paled and the tan girl paled as well.  The girl was growing up beautifully.  She'd blended well between her two races.  She had her mother's black hair and curly hair from her father's mother, she had tan skin with almond shaped eyes but they were hazel again from her father's mother, she was short like her mother had been at only 5'2".  As they watched the girl shot to a standing position as she grabbed the sword and withdrew it from the scabbard that held it and they gasped as it glowed and lightening appeared to run along the blade.  Then her eyes glowed as well.  She looked in awe at her sword as she finally understood why she had always been faster than other kids and healed fast.  She had never been sick a day in her life.  She slid her sword back into the sheath and then she appeared to glow as the glow disappeared a nine tailed fox sat in front of them.  They'd swear the fox grinned as it began to play.

"I can see why Angel had you come to us.  There's more you need to know now." Harry said as he stared a look with Billy who was calling the elder Quil.

Charlie just sat there staring blankly as the paper he held fluttered to the ground.

"Rosa can you shift back?" Billy asked after disconnecting with Quil.

In a flash of light the girl stood before them again with a huge grin.

"This is so freaking cool!!" I gushed.

I'd become quite good at hiding my ability to be faster than others but I felt no need at the moment so I was running at top speeds in excitement.

After Quil arrived the Tribe council explained to Charlie, Jacob, Seth, Leah, Quil, Embry, and myself about the legends being true.  They explained that when the cold ones first appeared and was killing them their sky god gave them the magic to shift into wolves.  They were then able to protect their own against cold ones.  However, one day cold ones came who weren't their enemy and they made a peace treaty pact.  They were the Cullens and whenever they Cullens return so does the ability to shift return to their tribe.  The Tribe council explained cold ones is what we call vampires.  They explained that now that they're back three of them have shifted so far those three being Sam, Jared, and Paul.
