Shoyo was a gifted child to say the least. Her mother would watch her analyze things into amazing detail. She could tell you your mistakes if it had to do with something that she was very interested in. At eight years old, Shoyo was doing math two grades above her own and in English she was only one grade ahead.

The sunflower in her left eye became more prominent as if it were drawn. It was a coincidence her middle name being Himawari, the Japanese definition being sunflower. Alberta, Shos grandmother thought it was a sign, sunflowers meaning unconditional love and symbolizes faith and hope. She got two nicknames from her whole family then: Esperanza(hope) and Mi mirasol/girasol(my sunflower).

Jimena got remarried to a Spanish man named Mateo and he was a sweetheart. He was an amazing person. But of course when you go to pick a flower you pick the prettiest one. He unfortunately died from a car crash after 3 years of marriage.

The whole family was devastated especially the sad wife who believed any love she had towards another brought misfortune.

Spinning at 500 feet per minute. 7.5 high. Drip....drip...tic...tic...the blood dripped and the clock counted seconds of shock. 20.384 seconds. 5 10 by 4 notes folded....5 by 2...9 crumbled pieces....8 inches from the north east corner:#1...5 inches from the bed foot.#2....7 centimeters from the left pillow..no breaths have been taken...badump..badump yours went.............*silence* hers went...why was it silent...then the loud scream...

Shoyo shot up gasping for air dripped in a cold sweat. She had a very vivid nightmare that she has had almost every night. Turning to her side table to see a picture of her mom, smiling...'mom looked so happy...but I guess it was fake..why did you leave me mom..' shoyo thought. She teared up and decided not to think about it. After all it's been three years since that.

Now 13 Shoyo, kissed her mom goodmorning and headed downstairs to see her abuela(grandma) and abuelo(grandpa) making breakfast while her primo(cousin) Alñero and tía (aunt) were still asleep.

"Buenos dias Como estas hoy mi sol" (good morning how you doing today my sun) Alberta said seeing her granddaughter walk into the kitchen.

"Buenos dias abuela" (good morning grandmother) "Estoy bien"( I'm fine) shoyo responded.

"Nightmares again?" Saku asked.
Shoyo looked away her expression distant. "Its okay hun you have all right" he said.

Flashback

Shoyo was going to turn eleven very soon. She wanted to get ready for her piano lessons. She adored how the black keys were in a pattern in groups of twos and threes and had 88 keys that were all on different frequencies. She liked to analyze the patterns the notes created. Plus her mom played so she wanted to be closer to her that way. Shoyo wanted to cheer her mom up. She could tell her mom was acting strange and very sad ever since the death of her stepfather Mateo. She went up to her mom's room and knocked the door. When no answer came she assumed her mom didnt hear and checked to see if the door was unlocked. Since it was she decided there was no harm in going in. She opened the door and her heart squeezed. There was her mother pills scattered all over the ground. Slit wrists and hanging from the ceiling while the ceiling fan lighting hit against her body. After a few seconds of shock Shoyo screamed. Her grandparents came upstairs and saw it and they called an ambulance. When the doctors came and pronounced her dead and gave their condolences, Shoyo was still in a state of shock. She picked up the notes her mom left behind and a stuffed bunny her mom has been carrying around since her birth. The funeral was on Shoyos birthday. She turned 11 on the day she would last see her mother.
