I Can't Peter

A Night Alone

Night eventually came to everyone and they all went to bed. Gamora could barely sleep since she kept thinking about Peter. She kept replaying the tape that he had left her. She just laid in her bed thinking about Peter. She didn't want to have to say goodbye to him.

Peter was still hanging from the machine with Corvus watching. Peter hadn't gotten any sleep at that point. It wasn't comfortable trying to sleep in the air. He was stuck in one position and couldn't do anything. As Peter was about to close his eyes, he heard the door open. It was Corvus. He walked up to Peter and looked at him. "So this is the man who was able to hold an infinity stone in his hand? Why the hell would Thanos think of you as a threat?" Corvus started. Peter glared at him as he talked. "But, maybe you'll be useful in battle. You know, if you want all of this to end, you have three options: become a child of Thanos, rot inside of this cell, or die a quick yet painful death." Corvus said. "Is there really any good choice out of those choices?" Peter asked. "How about this, you let me go and we forget that this ever happened, heck forget me in general and no one dies." Peter tries to negotiate with Corvus. Corvus looked down away from Peter and pulled out the schock stick and hit his stomach with it, shocking Peter. Corvus grabbed Peter's face roughly. "No trying to get out." Corvus said. He walked out of Peter's cell and locked it behind him. "Prick." Peter whispered. Peter had accepted the fact that he might die. Hours passed and Peter was no where near joining Thanos. He had been beaten up and shocked in that one day so much that he felt like he was at the gates of death. Every time something bad happened to Peter, Gamora had a bad feeling rush through her body.

Gamora had never listened to the full tape that Peter had left because she assumed that it was just nothing after the song. She forgot to turn it off at the usual time and heard his voice again. Check the bottom shelf of the pantry Peter's voice said. Gamora got up to check the pantry. Everyone was still asleep when she was up. She opened up the door to it, bent down, and saw a CD. He taught her everything there was to know about earth things that he grew up with, so she also knew how to make the CD play. She put it into the player. When it appeared on the screen, she saw Peter. He started talking. "Hey Gamora! I know that I pre-recorded these messages but I kinda saw these things coming, but right now, I just want time with you, even if I can't see of physically talk to you, but I just don't wanna have to say goodbye. And this isn't a 'goodbye', more like a 'see you later' because, I don't want to give up yet. You're the reason why I'm still going and why I'm still trying to get out. I love you with all of my heart Gamora, see you soon." The recording stopped. "See you soon too Peter." She said softly. She waited to see if there was anymore, but it was done. She fell asleep on her bed after she watched his message for her. He managed to fall asleep too, but it still hurt to sleep like that. His voice stuck around in her head. "I love you"
