[Place: River Wood High School]

Walking through the rain was quite fun to me. That is, unless it's to River Wood High School. If I had the option, I'd much rather go to someplace like a prison for my education. Besides, it's not like I'd be missing out on anything. This school probably slips past with teaching the students as little as possible, and it shows. And they obviously haven't taught anyone any manners, or how to treat other people - that's a fact I've know since my first year here.

The school is quite small, despite it's 'amazingly detailed' entrance, which consists of a curved archway, with the words River Wood High School, A Wonderful Place to Learn and Grow!, which is basically lying to you before you even walk into the place. And apparently, to be accepted within the social groups of this school, you have to wear makeup, and dress nicely, in pink. Which is a good reason I've only ever had one friend in this whole place.

His name is Kevin Parks, but I call him Kev. We've been friends since Kindergarten, and have been all through middle school. He's nothing too special, except he's on the football team. He has a girlfriend, too, but she's a bit too... girly for me to so much as pretend to know her. But the thing about Kevin Parks is that he accepts me, which is quite a rare thing to find in someone.

We always meet up outside the school before walking in, normally with him waiting for me. I've only beat him here once or twice, and that's only because he had gotten stuck in traffic. I saw him walking on the sidewalk, heading to the school entrance. I began sprinting towards him, eager to beat him to the school. My light backpack (which was dark blue, with several MCR, All Time Low, and FoB pins all over it) plopped against my back as I ran across the school yard. I looked back as I passed the brown-haired boy, simply to see his face, which went from surprise to determination as he quickened his pace. We were then in a full-on race to the school, with me way ahead of him.

I slowed down as I neared the door to the brick-walled school, struggling to catch my breath. While looking down, my hands wrapped around my ankles, I catch a glimpse of Kev's bright green sneakers. I look up, and his short brown hair is soaked, plasterd to his face. I assume mine is, too, with my unnatural, medium-length black hair with a green steak going through it, which according to Kev 'perfectly frames my face'. Which I don't quite get, I've always thought of my hair as a mop, simply sitting on my head for decoration.

I looked up past his sneakers, to his face. It was pale, like mine. His green eyes were shining with energy, and his usual childish smile was formed perfectly on his ips. I know what you're thinking, and I defiantly do not have a crush on my best friend - my only friend. Anyway, a few strands of hair hung over his head, covering his eyes. This, to me, was kid of cute (no, not in the oh my gosh you're so cute date me please thank you kind of way, but the aww, a puppy way). I felt my backpack beginning to slide down my back, and straightened up before it hit my head. I looked back to the boy infront of me, who was now holding the door open. As I walked towards him, he swung his arm, in that fancy style that makes you feel like you're royalty, something special.

I walked through the school, followed by Mr.Green-Shoes behind me. And right infront of me, was none other than Madeline Frances - the girliest girl in school, and also one of the [many] students who bully me.
