When Mikes alarm went off he immediately jumped out of bed while Hugh and Ebenezer groaned for him to shut the obnoxiously beeping clock off.

Today was the day Mike was going to meet Emmanuel Macron and he wanted to look extra good for him. "Well just because that will make it easier to get him on my side...", mumbled Mike to himself as he put on his best suit. Donald had bought it for him but that was a long time ago. The suit had been expensive but if Donald was gonna cheat on Mike anyways he shouldn't have bothered to gift him something like that.

"Make sure to put on the nice cologne I got you!". Hugh stuck out his hands with the cologne in Mikes direction. It was nice even though it wasn't what Mike would usually use. It wasn't expensive like the stuff he had bought before the yu-gi-yo card misery and before his breakup but it was Hughs thought that counted.

"Thanks my love.", Mike put the cologne on generously and then checked his phone. Macron had texted him that he had just landed safely and Mikes heart skipped a beat as he read the message. Mike answered that he would pick him up at the hotel where he was staying in 6 hours and Macron agreed. But Mike hadn't specifically planned things beforehand...

Was he gonna pick up the french President in Ebenezers worn out Twingo? And was he going to show up without a welcome present for Macron? Not to mention the price the meal would be. Without thinking he had proposed that they visit one of the most expensive restaurants in town. A few month ago it would've been a place Mike would go to every other day but now...

Mike just didn't have enough money.
"Mikey what's wrong?", Hughs voice was laced with worry and Mike sunk down on the old couch. "Oh Hugh!", he sighed and hugged the taller man. "I'm broke! How will I impress Macron like this?". Hugh wiggled out of the embrace and silently walked into the bedroom. When he came out he had a wooden duck in his hand.

"Here you can have it...". Hugh handed him the duck and when Mike took a closer look at it he realized it was hollow and could be opened at the bottom. When Mike opened it he was shocked. "Hugh... Baby I can't accept this!". The duck was full of Hughs savings. Ebenezer had told him it was Hughs dream to buy the expensive diamond wooden duck with that money.

"You need it more Mikey. Impress Macron and get back at that asshole, Trump!". Mike was speechless. He just hugged Hugh as close as he physically could and hurried to get out to get stuff done.

First he went online and rented a car for the rest of the day. An expensive one at that. Luckily Hugh had already saved up a whole lot for his duck and Mike did feel a little guilty for spending his boyfriends money but Hugh had assured him that it was fine.

Next up was a present. He decided to go with something american so the french president would always remember where he got it. A shirt with the american flag on it that said "I ❤️🇺🇸" with a diamond covered heart for 2040$ seemed just about right.

It had taken Mike so long to pick out a present that it was now almost time to pick Emmanuel Macron up. Quickly Mike walked to the spot where he could pick up the car and then drove the rest of the way to Emmanuels Hotel. When he arrived he could already see the handsome french man standing outside.

Mike could feel his heart beating faster in his chest as he got out of the car to open the door for Macron.
