CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Safiyyah's POV

After prayer, I went back to my room to change into my PJs.

Suddenly becoming self aware. I am feeling nervous all of a sudden. I have never appeared before any man without being completely covered.

Reminding myself that Umar is now my husband I quickly change into my PJs and tie my hair in a bun.

After changing, I went to Umar's room and knocked on the door.

He opened the door and stared at me for a while before claring his throat

"A..are you ready to sleep?" He ask stuttering and I nod

"Okay come in" he says opening the door for me to come in. He probably thought I meant I was sleeping here

"Umm..I came to say goodnight. Am really sleepy" I tell him yawning and I can see his face dropping but he masks it immediately but I still noticed it. I feel bad but I don't want to sleep in the same room yet. I am just adjusting to being in the same house as him

"Oh okay. Good night" he says giving me a smile and leaning in to peck my head.

I stand there rooted in my spot. I am shocked and embarrassed

Umar notices and chuckles

"Goodnight hayati. You can stay if you want though" he says teasingly

I clear my throat gaining my composure
"Umm.. Goodnight" I say looking away and going to my room. All I could hear on my way to my room was Umar's laughter until I close the door.

I walk into my room and crash on the small portion of my bed that wasn't occupied by my boxes.

I look for my phone and put it on. The first thing I see is so many missed calls from my parents.

A message from Aslam
The house feels so empty without you

I smile as I read the text

And messages from Husna and Zainab.

I decided to call Maa first

"Habibty!!"

"Yes Maa, am sorry I just saw your missed call and Baba's as well"

"oh we wanted to see how you were doing but you didn't answer meaning you were spending time with Umar and that's all we wanted"

I decided to ignore that

"What are you doing now Maa? Have you eaten?" I ask curious

"Nothing. Aslam, your Baba and I just finished eating. It doesn't feel right without you" she tells me

"Oh. I miss you too"

"Is it my baby? Please pass me the phone" I hear Baba saying to Maa

"Hello habibty"

"Hello Baba! I hope you haven't eaten too much" I tell him and he laughs

"Don't worry, I haven't. I am still dieting as you have instructed"

"Ahh, good. Don't cheat Baba even though I am not there anymore I have spies watching over you"

"You mean your mother? She is the one that ruins my diet all the time. she won't tell you a thing"

"In that case I need a new spy" I say laughing

"What are you up to habibty?"

"I am getting ready for bed, Baba"
