Hayel woke up and opened her eyes. Where was she? Hayel looked up at the ceiling, and it was too bright to look at. Her mind felt foggy, like she had been drugged. But that couldn't be right, she was at the Ceremony and then.... and then..... Hayel couldn't remember what came after that. Why couldn't she remember?

Hayel looked away from the bright ceiling, and looked down at herself. She was wearing the same exact thing she had worn the day before, but it didn't have a single wrinkle. Then she noticed where she was laying. She was strapped in to what looked like a lab table, which would explain the lights above. But did that mean they were experimenting on her? Hayel began to struggle to try to get out of her restraints, but then thought of it as a good thing. Maybe they had seen Peter touch her and were trying to find an explanation for no bond? But that thought shattered like glass when she looked to the right and saw Him sitting in a chair, his eyes searching her like a hunter watching its prey.

"Peter?" Hayel asked, her question resonating through the name.

"Don't worry Hayel, everything will make sense soon," Peter said.

Hayel closed her eyes and felt tears start to form. "I dont want answers later." her voice was barely a whisper. "I want them now. Im scared Peter, please tell me whats happening?" and she felt a tear begin to roll down the side of her face.

But Peter simply stood up and walked away. "Im afraid i cant tell you anything," he said as he walked out the door. He didn't look back.

That sent Hayel off like a bomb. "Peter! Dont leave me here! PETER!" and she felt the tears flow freely. The tears stung her face as they slowly rolled their way down her cheeks, unwilling to stop. She cried for what felt hours, but could have been simply minutes. Finally, her tears ran out, and her voice died on her. She could not speak, she could not cry, and she could not stand to look at Peter again. He brought her to this, Hayel was sure of it. And he would pay, that much she knew.

Finally, a man walked through the door, one who Hayel had never seen before. Which was strange, because the city of Trinica was a pretty small community. He wore a grey business suit and his face didnt carry even a hint of a smile. Her eyes followed the man as he walked up to her, past her, and then to a table that held what looked like a bunch of fancy documents. Hayel didnt know who this man was, but he carried a certain air of authority about him.

Finally, the man spoke. "Thank you for participating, Hayel. We can continue now."

Hayel was shocked. "Continue? What, am I an experiment?"

The man continued. "I know you must be confused, but most everyone is when this happens."

Hayel was disgusted. "You do this to others? What are you, monsters?"

The man still was unshaken by her comments. "On the contrary," he said, "we remove the monsters at any point possible."

Hayel was confused. "Then why am I tied up like this?" Hayel asked.

"Well," began the man, "most people become afraid when they learn the truth."

Hayel began to get a suspicion. "Oh no. Dont tell me"

The strange man cut her off. "Hayel. Dont worry, everything will be okay. But now it is time for you to learn the truth."

Hayel began to struggle against her restraints, but they werent going to loosen for her. Hayel broke into screams the moment the Man let loose his words to crush her.

The man spoke. "We are the Aela, and you have been chosen."
