"Unrequited love is all right in books and things, but in real life, it completely sucks."

"You too Jevon. Natalie might not be comfortable with all this teasing. Please delete it, I would really appreciate it." Chloe continued.
Jevon apologized and smiled at her. Chloe thanked him and returned Vaness's phone while glaring at her. She gave a soft smile to Vanessa.
"Although I love your teasing, please don't cross the line," Chloe said, crossing her arms.
"I love you too," Vanessa said cheekily.
The kids shouted out of excitement as they walked in. Chloe looked at the kids who were all ecstatic because of what they saw. There were not only gifts but also food like pasta, pizza, salad, and burgers. There were also many varieties of drinks for them to choose from. They thanked Chloe and the other volunteers while grinning from ear-to-ear. The administrator thanked them all for making the kids happy. They ate alongside the kids.
Chloe grabbed a burger and a salad with some orange juice. She scanned the room looking for Natalie. Natalie was with Jevon, laughing at what he had said. Chloe felt a pang of jealousy. She didn't act according to what her mind was telling her and walked over to her friends. She sat beside Alice who was eating and taking a bit of her burger while Vanessa kept on chatting nonsense. Vanessa noticed Chloe stopped chattering and faced her.
"I'm sorry about a while ago. It's just I haven't seen you work this hard just for someone. Looks like you're serious about her. It just isn't fair. She's been leaving you hanging for months now. It's just she might not prefer girls, and from the looks of it. You'll likely be friend-zoned." Vanessa admitted with worried eyes.
Chloe's lips curved upward into a smile. She looked at her friend. Despite Vanessa's constant teasing, she really cared about her. Alice smiled at Chloe, agreeing with Vanessa.
"We're not saying that we don't like her. We're still friends after all. Just be careful. We don't want you to get hurt." Alice clarified.
Chloe thanked her friends but told them not to worry. She's far too in love with Natalie. She still has some hope left, after all, Natalie still hadn't rejected her. Not to mention that Natalie's still single. Chloe was about to bite her burger when someone suddenly sat beside her. It was Beatrice.
"You didn't call me," Beatrice said, pouting.
Vanessa and Alice looked at Chloe, their nose wrinkled creating a crease between their eyebrows. Vanessa even had her mouth slightly opened out of confusion.
"Hi, Beatrice. I didn't know you're part of the volunteers. I've never seen you at Hidget Academy." Chloe said.
Beatrice laughed and moved closer to Chloe. She blinked her eyes slowly giving Chloe the look and smiled. Vanessa who sensed Beatrice's flirtation had her eyebrows pinched together.
"I'm the Administrator's niece. He asked me to help out. Isn't it destiny for us to meet again?" Beatrice said as her delicate fingers lifted Chloe's chin.
Chloe smiled and removed Beatrice's hand away from her chin. She felt bad for rejecting this older girl harshly before. The only thing she could do to make it up for it is at least reject her less rudely.
"You're really pretty and an amazing girl. You're also my type-"
"I hear a but coming," Beatrice said, her lips curved downward.
