•chapter 11•

a few weeks passed and nothing much happened. i've gotten few scowls from the boys but that's all that's happened. i didn't want to report anything because i was scared i'd have to move again. i've been avoiding tsukishima because i thought he didn't want anything to do with me anymore. he's been a lot more distant and so i gave him space. oikawa's practice match was coming up and i was a little excited to see him and mattsun play. me and kuroo have been calling and texting each other often. i haven't told him about what happened because i was scared of his reaction. it's been a little rough but it's nothing i couldn't handle on my own.

"(l/n)? are you there?" hinata asks.

"r-right. sorry." i sigh.

"you've been spacing out pretty often. coach says it's time to clean up." he says.

i nod and help put away the equipment. i walk into the storage closet when i hear the door close behind me. i flinch on instinct but sigh in relief when i see it's just tsukishima.

"oh, you scared me. do you need anything?" i ask.

"why are you avoiding me (l/n)?" he asks bluntly.

"i'm not." i reply, "i was just giving you space. you didn't seem to want to talk to me."

"oh." he mumbles.

second person pov
tsukishima scolded himself for that. truth is, he was scared. he was scared that you would push him away. so to avoid that, he pushed you away. it was a dumb decision but he thought it was the right one. you stare at him with a blank expression.

"yeah." you say.

tsukishima stands there, trying to think of something to say.

"are you just going to stand there?" you laugh.

"oh- i uh.." tsukishima stutters. your laugh made his heart flutter.

"i'm just kidding." you smile as you walk out of the storage room. tsukishima walks out behind you.

"what's up with them?" tanaka says to daichi and suga.

"who knows, it's not our business." daichi replies. suga nods and packs up.

"i'm gonna head out now." you wave at everyone.

"wait (l/n)! you shouldn't go alone." kiyoko suggests.

everyone agrees. you stand by the door with an embarrassed expression.

"tsukishima. you should walk her. you guys live close right?" suga chimes in.

"yes! you should." noya smirks.

tsukishima blushes a little. he rubs the back of his neck and looks over at you. your eyes meet and you look away immediately.

"alright." he says, "i'll get changed. give me like 5 minutes okay? and wait by the locker room."

you nod and follow him outside. everyone watches as you guys leave together and smile.

"agh! i'm so jealous of tsukishima." tanaka growls.

suga laughs and slaps his back.

as you wait outside for tsukishima, you decide to head on over to the vending machine to grab a drink. you stand in front of the machine, trying to decide what to get when you someone whispers in your ear,

"i told you to wait for me by the locker room."

you punch them in the face but instantly regretting it when you notice that it was just tsukishima.

"ah! i-i'm so sorry tsukishima!" you cry out, rubbing his face.

"agh, you fucking punch hard (l/n)." he groans in pain.
