The ending we deserved

15x 19 part 2

Days passed, Dean refused to leave his room, just as he refused to put down his wiskey bottle and jacket, which still had Castiels blood on it.

It wasn't until late one night that Sam managed to catch him in the kitchen with a bottle of beer. ,,Dude, it's been days, i think we need to talk." Sam sighed. ,,Well, we don't," said Dean, taking a sip from the bottle and trying to make his way back to his room, but Sam stopped him.
,,Dean, I know you're going through something hard, but how can I help you if you don't confide in me? We have to pull ourselves together to get rid of Chuck once and for all, but you're just holed up for days drowning in your feelings. So talk to me."
,,No, i just can't."Dean said through clenched teeth.
,,Why not? What happened that night man?"Sam's voice rose impatiently.
,,You think I don't know how you feel?  I miss and think  about Eileen every minute, but I know I have to keep fighting, we can't give up now. Cas was my friend, too, and even though I miss him, I try to keep looking forward."

,,But he wasn't just a friend.." Dean said quietly. ,,What?" Sam's brow furrowed, confused by his brother's behavior.
,,I-I loved him Sammy."Dean said, and his voice broke, tears he struggled to fight, only to let go quietly.
,,That night.. Cas declared his love for me and empty took him away and I-I didn't do anything, I stood there like a total idiot and just watched it take him away from me."  At that moment he was sobbing loudly, unable to fight his feelings any longer. Without a word, Sam stepped forward and hugged him tightly.
,,I just wish he knew..I just wish that he knew he hadn't died without being loved." Dean choked on his own words, and Sam just stroked his back soothingly.
,,Shhh, I'm sure he knows."He assured his older brother.
,,I'm sure of it, too."Jack called from behind their back. The brothers just smiled at him and took him into big group hug.
,,We'll get him back Dean. We'll get everybody back, i promise you."  Said Sam hopefully.
