"Andrew...," I sighed, quietly, propping my elbow against my desk. Andrew was the most popular guy in the 10th grade. His olive green eyes would put anyone in a trance, and his silky black hair? Don't get me started. I've had a crush on him since the third grade. He never noticed me, I don't even think he realizes I exist. Even if he did, he's probably straight. It was a quiet Friday evening, and the last period of the day. Eighth period was always the worst because it was math class.
Ms. Jenkins stood at the front of the class, her sickly, bony figure loosely fitting into her green pantsuit. She was an ugly brunette, with pale blue eye, and a crooked nose. She was actually pretty nice. She was currently teaching us Module 2 , we were in our second semester. My eyes found their way back to Andrew. Whom was sitting in his seat, chatting with the "cool" group. Tristan, Jacob, Daniel, Zane and Zach (their twins). Then the girls of the group. They are complete bitches, and throw themselves at my Andrew every chance they get. Brianna, Tiffany, Yulianna, Jada, and Layla. I felt a light tap on, my right shoulder. I turned to my bestfriend , Emily.
Emily, had caramel skin, with big brown eyes, and dirty blond puffy hair. She was mixed with Indian, black, and white. (My bestfriend in real life). We've known each other since the fourth grade, but we really didn't start talking until the fifth grade, because I always thought she was a little weird. But, I was wrong, she's a cool friend. She had a grin on her face, as she realize where I was staring. She knew I had a crush on Andrew, and always encouraged me to go talk to him, but I always chickened out.
"Hmm, staring at Andrew again?" She asked her grin growing wider. My cheeks flared, as I looked away. She laughed. "You should really go talk to him, he's quite nice," she said. He's her stepbrother's cousin.
"No..., I can't! What will I say?!" I asked in panic. She patted my back.
"You're thinking too much," she said.
"Alex! Emily! Do you want to share with the class?" Ms. Jenkins asked. Me and Emily looked up to see the whole class staring at us. I hated when teachers did that! If I wanted to share with the class, I wouldn't be talking only with Emily. Ms. Jenkins ugly ass need to fuck off! My eyes fell on Andrew, his green eyes stared into my hazel ones. I blushed furiously.
"N-No!" I stuttered. With that Ms. Jenkins turned and began writing on the whiteboard. Everyone turned back around, but Andrew stared a little longer, before returning back to his book.
ANDREW'S POV
"Andrew do you think he's the one?" Tristan asked next to me. I glanced back at Alex, who was sitting in the third row, diagonal from us.
"I'm sure," I stated raking a hand through my black hair. "I'm just waiting for the demon to make a move, it will eventually, and we will be ready to protect the Gem," I spoke.
"After School me and Zane are reporting to headquarters," Zach stated. I nodded.
We have double lives. At daylight we attend HillSide High as the popular kids, seemingly normal, and fitting in with the humans. At sundown we attend Spellers Academy, working for the SDO, Slaying Demons Organization. A select few of us were chosen, for a mission. That mission is to protect the Gem. We believe the Gem is Alex Stanford. Surprisingly, he hasn't been eaten yet, which still gives us a chance!
I stared at Ms. Jenkins. She's a disgusting creature, and I fear I might not be there to protect Alex, when she decides to make a move. I must say that demon's disguise is foolproof for these oblivious humans. Spellers can sniff out demon's, and she reeks of demon aroma, it almost makes me sick. I can't kill her now, or the humans will be suspicious..
Just then, the bell rang signalling school was over for the day. I let out a breath, I stood up along with Jacob, Daniel, Tristan, Zane and Zach.
"Alex, may we speak after class," I heard "Ms. Jenkins" say. I paused. Jacob, Daniel, Tristan, Zane and Zach, must not have heard because they were out in the hallway. Their stupid asses are supposed to be alert with Alex's whereabouts.
I glanced at Alex. He was completely oblivious.
"Yes," he answered and Ms. Jenkins smiled, victoriously, then noticed I was still in the room.
"Andrew, give us a moment," she spoke sickening sweet, her fangs could be seen hidden by her lips as she spoke. I silently nodded and left the room, biting my bottom lip. I hated leaving Alex alone with that demon, but I'll save him before it has a chance to lay a finger on him.
"Shit, I didn't think it would be this soon..," I spoke, slowly sliding my sword out of my backpack.
