But I feel smothered by your love
It's like I can't breathe
And every time I try to take a breath
It feels like I'm drowning
Cause there's no freedom in your loving
You anchor me to yourself
Cause you think you can't live without me
But I can't live like this
Like a prisoner of your love
That used to keep me safe and warm
And now burns me like a flame...
I really want us to work
But it's only been getting worse day by day
I think I love you
But your touch makes my skin crawl
And all the words of love I've spoken only seem empty
I wish I could leave but I don't know how
I don't want to hurt you
Believe me, I really don't!
But perhaps by staying
I'm only hurting myself...
~ It's sad how something so beautiful can turn so ugly... But thanks to this experience, I'll be wiser in the future (Always trying to find something positive), 9/2020
