CHLOE

━━━━━━━━━━━━

Christmas. The jolliest time of the year when Christmas carols are heard everywhere and the smell of hot chocolate, randomly flowing through your nose. I love Christmas and spending it in Paris is too typical to me now. Sure, it would be a huge dream to spend Christmas here in front of the Eiffel tower and all that shit, but I want to see the place that sounds like home. And that is New York City.

And I'm going there, today.

But before that, I write a letter to a friend. A friend whom I am completely clueless about over the past years.

Dear London,

I'm on my way to New York today. I hope you're doing well.

Can we at least see each other? It's really fine if you don't want to.

Remember, Audrey Hepburn once said, "The best thing to hold on to is each other."

-Paris

"I'm gonna miss you." My older sister, Camille whines.

"I mean, who's going to play Uno with me on Christmas eve?"

"Grandpa will."

"He doesn't care about Uno. All grandpa knows is chess."

"Wait." She pauses. "Oh...it's a letter from your boyfriend." She teased.

"He's not my boyfriend," I say, zipping my luggage close.

"Ok, so you're practically dating a guy after a year of breaking up with Louis."

"I'm sorry I said his name," she adds.

"It's okay." I sigh.

"Did you tell London that you're spending time in New York?"

"Yes." I nod. "And I asked him if we could meet."

"Oh, please..." Camille scoffs. "You didn't even know he was a guy until you were 15."

"I gotta go." I flash a smile. "Call me anytime."

"Wait, Chloe."

"Don't forget to visit mom and dad." She winked.

I only get to see my parents every Christmas. Let's just say they're in a magical place where everything is possible.
