"I have something for you!" Hindi niya nakalimutan. Ofcourse how will he ever forget this day. Today's my 17th birthday. 3 years ago I was sitting on the guard's office of our school waiting for my driver to pick me up, the weather is not good by that time that's why the principal announced an early dismissal. I texted my driver to pick me up. An hour has passed and still no sign of our car. Then suddenly the rain poured. I waited and waited. I have no choice I have to walk from our school to the bus station. Then a guy came up to me and hand me his umbrella. Sabi niya malapit lang naman daw ang bahay nila mula sa school kaya binigay niya na sakin yung payong niya. After the scenario nagkita ulit kami sa Starbucks malapit sa village namin. Nung una nahihiya ako mag-Hi sakanya kasi baka may kasama siya. Then he noticed me. I realized I haven't thanked him sa ginawa niya the last time nagkita kami. So I bought him my favorite drink. Chocolate cream chip. And then that's when our friendship started.
I opened the box and saw a personalized starbucks cup, a limited edition one I suppose ,with my name on it. (Zara) na may heart sa gilid. It's not that it's the first time he'd bought me a gift for my birthday pero this one looks special than the rest. It's not much but it's everything. He knows how much of a coffee drinker I am.
"Thanks Luke! Akala ko nakalimutan mo na. It's so nice. I love it." I hugged him tight. If he only knew how much I like him. It feels like it's the best birthday gift kasi galing sakanya.
"Anything for my best girl. I love you Zars." There goes that "word" again. B e s t girl. Can't I be YOUR girl?
