As I get out the taxi in front of my child hood home, I hear the voicemail of my friend for the hundredth time this month. She told me she was going home for the summer but then just dropped off the face of the earth which doesn't sit right with me at all.
I pocket my phone and grab my bags, walking towards the house. My knuckles rattle against the door and it is immediately flung open. I'm met with the beautiful face of my mother and her eyes widen.
"Natalia?!" She shrieks in surprise.
"Hey, Momma" I grin widely.
She yanks me into her arms and I giggle as I hug her tightly, something I haven't done in forever.
"How are you here?" She asks, holding me out at arms length.
"I talked to dad and decided that I wanna finish high school in Beacon Hills, if that's okay with you" I explain sheepishly and she beams happily.
"I'd love that" She gushes "Now, come in. It's dark out"
She helps me bring my bags inside and ushers me into the living room. We sit down on the sofa and I can't wipe the smile off my face as I look around the room.
"The place looks kinda different" I mention.
"Yeah, but your room is the exact same as you left it" My mother assures me with a short laugh "Scott wouldn't let me touch it"
"Sounds like Scotty" I giggle softly, shaking my head "Speaking of that knucklehead, where is he?"
"He should be home soon" She tells me and I nod, realising she's in her work scrubs.
"Are you working tonight?" I ask curiously and she checks her watch, her eyes widening.
"Oh, shit" She curses, jumping to her feet "Sorry to run out on you, but I'm gonna be late"
"Don't worry about it. I'll see you later, Mom" I assure her.
"See you later, baby" She smiles, kissing my cheek before rushing out the house.
I take one last look around the living room before grabbing my bags and hauling them up the stairs. I reach my room and push it open, smiling when I see it's exactly how I left it just like my mom said.
The walls are a pale lilac colour and the carpet is a clean white. My double bed is neatly made with white bedding, purple and gold pillows decorating it, as well as a fluffy white blanket at the bottom. My desk and chair are in the corner, a white teddy bear on the seat which makes me grin. The sheer white curtains cover the blinds on the window and my closet doors are still covered in stickers of purple flowers, courtesy of Lydia Martin when we were children.
I pull my portable speaker out my backpack and place it on my desk before connecting my phone and playing some music. A smile on my face and a wiggle in my hips, I start unpacking my things.
"We're singing 'til last call
And it's all out of tune
Should be laughing, but there's something wrong
And it hits me when the lights go on
Shit, maybe I miss you!" I sing loudly as I kick my suitcase under my bed.My door swings open and I scream, jumping around in fright. I'm met with the grinning face of my twin brother and I scream again, but this time in pure joy.
"Scotty!" I squeal, throwing myself into his arms as he runs at me "I've missed you so much"
"I've missed you too, Natty" He hums, hugging me tightly.
My eyes flutter open and I notice a dark haired boy standing at the door in shock. I squint my eyes a little before a gasp leaves my lips and I slip out of my brother's hold.
"Stiles!" I holler and he grins widely.
"You remember me?" He asks in surprise.
"I'd remember that dorky smile anywhere" I laugh, wrapping him in a warm hug.
He hesitates, but hugs me back tightly and I smile happily.
"So, how's things in Beacon Hills?" I ask curiously, walking over to my speaker and turning it off.
"Y'know, boring as usual" Scott shrugs and Stiles nods in agreement.
I take in the sight of them both stood in my room, staring at me with smiles and I take a mental screenshot, hoping to never forget this moment.
"Why are you staring at us like a creep?" Scott asks, snapping me out my daze and I laugh, shaking my head.
"I've just missed you dorks" I answer and they both roll their eyes.
"How long are you here for?" Stiles asks.
"Hopefully till I finish high school" I grin excitedly.
"No way, you're staying?" Scott asks in disbelief, hope swimming in his dark brown eyes.
"As long as I'm welcome" I nod and he excitedly pulls me into another hug.
"You're always welcome" He assures me making me smile.
