Strawberries

Freshman year, a whole new state, a whole new everything. Last summer Piper's mother finally reached out, she lived in New York with her two daughters, Silena and Drew. Her dad was working on yet another movie so they decided that she would live with her mother for at least the semester. She would be going to what they call AHS (Alternative High School) due to her "criminal past". The only good thing about the situation is that Leo would be going there. They met in seventh grade and the Wilderness Academy, but they sent him to a foster family in Manhattan.

Piper expected the girls to be mean but they were surprisingly nice. Drew was a bit rude but Silena was the nicest person Piper had ever met. She painted the walls of Piper's new room pink and coral and found her a beautiful bed set, it was white with lemons and limes all over it. She also made some joke about how she was lucky they weren't strawberries, that Piper didn't get. Her mom had a boyfriend, Ares, who would come over a lot, he was kind of scary. Apparently, they had twin boys that were away at college, who according to Drew, were even scarier than Ares.

"Are you girls taking the bus today?" Aphrodite asked

"Charlie offered to let us all pile into his car," Silena told her

"He's such a nice boy!"

"Who's Charlie?" Piper whispered to Drew

"Charlie's her boyfriend, but everyone calls him Beckndorf," Drew whispered back

Turns out Beckendorf was just as nice as her mom had said. He drove a beat-up old car, Silena sat in the front while Piper and Drew got in the back with some scrawny Hispanic... "Leo?"

"Hey beauty queen, long time no see,"

"Beauty queen, what kind of nickname is that?" Drew asked

"The kind you get after you let it slip that your mother owns a makeup company," Piper said making everyone laugh.

When they got out of the car Silena dragged her and Leo inside, excited. Beckendorf followed chuckling, but Drew went to meet up with some friends.

"So, our school has a strawberry field out back, so they have a strawberry theme. School breakfast? Toast with strawberry jam. Fruit with lunch? Strawberries. Detention? Pick strawberries. Hang out with Katie Gardner also pick strawberries." Charlie joked

"Is the school mascot a strawberry?" Piper genuinely

"Oh no, don't worry, it's a gladiator," Silena reassured her.

Leo got a text, "Hey, Piper want to meet up with some of my friends from last year?"

"Sure,"

"So, been up so any criminal activity while I was gone?" Leo asked as he led her down the halls that he only vaguely knew.

"Some wireless headphones from, Best Buy, never got caught though,"

"This must be like an all-time low,"

"I was worried that if I got into some big crime scandal my mom wouldn't want to meet me."

"Makes sense, I've managed to not run away, we're here," Leo had brought her to a Multi-Purpose room, then led her to a group of kids, "Woah, literally everyone is here," he said

"Yeah, it's our first day of High School, we didn't want to split up that quick." said a boy with black hair and sea-green eyes.

"Who's she?" asked a blonde girl

"Guys, this is Piper, my friend from the wilderness academy, Piper this is Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Hazel, Bianca, Nico, Will, Jason, Thalia, and Reyna."

"Didn't know you had so many friends,"

"Well, we usually split up, Nico, Bianca, and Hazel. Jason, Frank, and Reyna. Thalia has her own friends, Reyna will hang out with them sometimes. Will hangs out with his friends, Nico too sometimes. You know what, if I explain every dynamic of our group we'll be here forever."

Then a girl with cinnamon hair and freckles came up, "Hi, are you new here?"

"Um, yeah I just moved here,"

"Would you like to hang out with my friends and I. Leo can be a bit annoying."

"Oh, Leo and I have been friends for a long time, thank though,"

"Okay, nice to might you! By the way sorry Leo, I didn't mean to be rude but you have a slight tendency to get on people's nerves. That came out rude didn't it."

"Just a bit," he joked

"Well, I'll head back before I say anything else stupid."

After the girl was out of earshot Piper asked, "Who's she?" Piper asked

"Calypso Nightshade, the most beautiful girl ever!" Leo exclaimed

"Who hates you," One of the guys Percy I think said.

"She doesn't hate me she just... has some problems with me,"

"Like how she thinks you're annoying," Jason adds

"You guys suck,"

"You know what, I think I'm gonna like them,"

"Really you to Piper?"

"Yep,"
