Bakit hindi ako

"Gusto kita." Khalil confessed.
"Ano?" Jaevon asked.
"I like you, hindi mo ba gets?"
"Well itigil mo yan. I like someone else. And i can't like you back."
"Pero, does that person like you back?" Khalil said coldly.

When Jaevon heard that nagalit siya. While he was about to leave, naramdaman niya na may humawak sa kamay niya. Jaevon turned around to look at Khalil. He saw that Khalil was about to say something. He stayed still and let go of Khalils hand while waiting for what Khalil was about to say.

"I'll wait. No matter how long. Mag hihintay ako." He said.
"Edi matagal ka maghihintay."
"I don't care. Even if i have to wait for a decade. All I want is you Jaevon."
"Aalis na ako. Don't follow me."

Habang umaalis si Jaevon he thought about what he would do the tomorrow. He doesn't want to see Khalil kasi parang magiging uncomfortable siya.

It is the next day na and Jaevon ended up biking to school kasi medyo malayo siya nakatira from school. But while he was going up a hill he saw the person he was courting, kissing another person. He was heartbroken seeing what was happening. But then he heard a voice.

"Jaevon."

Jaevon turned around just because he heard Khalils voice. Khalil saw how heartbroken Jaevon looked and he understood what had happened when he saw two people a few metres from Jaevon. He knew what Jaevon felt like.

"Ako na mag b-bike." Khalil said while sitting on the bike. "Upo." He says to Jaevon

Jaevon just sat down behind him. And when Khalil was leaving, they both looked at the person. But Jaevon was looking at them longer. With anger, jealousy and sadness all at once.

"Ok lang yun, Jaevon. Hindi ka naman mamatay dahil nakita mo yung babae na nililigawan mo kiniss ng ibang lalaki." Khalil said hoping that those words would help Jaevon.
"I was courting her for a year. Sabi niya daw after graduation kami na!" Jaevon started shouting.
"Hindi ko lang gets kung bakit hindi niya na sinabi na ayaw na niya!" He continued as his voice got louder and louder.
"That's true."
"All I wanted naman was her. Bakit hindi ako?" He said while looking up stopping him from crying.

The two of them stopped talking for a for a while. They were still on the bike. But it was quiet. After a few minutes Khalil wanted to make sure Jaevon was ok.

"Ok ka na?" Khalil asked Jaevon.
"Ok na." Jaevon said sniffling.
"...Ok."

"I'm sorry." Jaevon suddenly apologizes.
"Sa ano?" He asks confused and stops biking to look at him.
"Sa sinabi ko kahapon. Na itigil mo yung feeling mo for me. Ang hirap. Ang sakit sa puso. I understand now how it feels for you."
"Ok lang naman eh, i still choose to like you even after what you told me. Pero ikaw, you are forcing yourself na ma get over sa kanya. It's not the same. So, you don't need to apologize for something that isn't your fault." Khalil reasures Jaevon.
"Still, mali yung sinabi ko. And I should've never said that."
"Ok na nga eh." Khalil said.

Khalil turns around to continue biking and they arrive at school. They are standing infront of eachother, just looking at one another. Khalil is looking at Jaevons eyes. And Jaevons eyes are red from crying earlier. Khalil started feeling bad, so he hugged Jaevon.
They look at eachother for a while after they hugged feeling a bit awkward. They both feel bad after everything that just happend. But they both know that they have nothing against eachother for what they feel. They hug one more time and Jaevon turns around to go to his campus. And he hears Khalil say something and he turns around again to hear what he said.

"I'll wait. Kaano katagal. I'll be waiting for you, Jaevon." Khalil says before leaving. And going to his campus. Without turning back, he knows that Jaevon is waving to him. He never showed it once. But he is hurting inside knowing that he will never be able to have Jaevon. No matter how long he has to wait. He will never get Jaevon.

"I'll be waiting forever."
