[Kazuichis Cabin]Stomp stomp stomp. "I just.. I don't get it I-" Stomp stomp stomp. "Why am I getting so worked up over this? It's not like-" Stomp stomp stomp.
Kazuichi paced back and forth in his cabin, his footsteps heavy and noisey.
Ibuki watched from Kazuichis bed with a sad look upon her face."Kazuichi it's-"
"It's not fine," Kazuichi raised his voice. He turned on his heel to face his dear cousin. "We fight all the time it's just.. Something about last night." He took a seat in front of Ibuki, on the floor. "It just really got to me."
"Worthless."
"What?"
"Worthless." Ibuki said once more. "That's the word you're upset about, isn't it?" Kazuichi coughed, the ocean water getting caught in his throat.
He nodded hesitantly."Yeah.. Yes I think it is." Kazuichi adverted his eyes, looking over at his dresser.
"Of course it is." Ibukis tone saddened,
"Your father, Kazuichi." The boy snapped his head back towards Ibuki.
"Who?" His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to suppress the memories.
He was not his father. He was not his family.
He did jack shit for Kazuichi, other than giving up his sperm.Ibuki lowered herself onto the floor.
"That was his favorite word to use on you. That's why you're so upset. It reminds you of.. back then." Ibuki took Kazuichis hands and gave them a squeeze.Tears snuck their way out of Kazuichis eyes.
She was right, Ibuki was right. It was all his father's fault. If it weren't for him he wouldn't be such a pussy. He'd be able to brush that word off like any other insult. But he couldn't.
Because of his father.
Because of all the nights Kazuichi hid under his bed, afraid.
Because of all the mornings he spent sweeping up glass shards.
Because of all the shouting he learned to ignore.
And because of the words his father loved to spit at him.
Kazuichi bit down on his quivering lip.
His voice shaking, he breathed out. "Fuck Ibuki. Why did.. why did he.."
He was cut off by his own sobs.
Kazuichi crashed his head on Ibuki's shoulder and lazily draped his arms around her neck.Ibuki wrapped her arms tightly around Kazuichi, rubbing circles into his back. Her faint shushing was nearly overpowered by the boys wails, and her "I'm sorry" 's and "you're okay" 's we're nothing but background music for Kazuichis breakdown. But, she didn't stop.
This continued until Kazuichis cries were sniffles, and the bags under his eyes were red and puffy.
The boy peeled himself off Ibuki and looked at her through blurry eyes.
"He just wanted to.. talk.""What?" Ibuki perked up. "Who did?"
"Gundham." Kazuichi sniffled.
"Talk? About what?"
"He said.. He said he wanted to have a 'decent conversation', or something." Kazuichi chuckled, but he didn't think anything was funny. "But I was too much of an asshole to let that happen."
Ibuki didn't respond. She just nodded and looked down at her hands.
She brought her head up after a few seconds and sighed.
"I'm tired of you idiots and your restless bickering." Kazuichi gasped at Ibuki's serious tone. Ibuki kept a stern face and looked Kazuichi right into his eyes.
"You two need to make up. Apologize. Both of you.""Why? It'll never happen, so just forget about it." Kazuichi brushed off Ibuki.
"If you guys don't make up by the end of the year I'll-" She trailed off.
"You'll what?" Kazuichi scoffed.
"I'll tell him." Ibuki smiled innocently.
"You'll tell him?" Ibuki nodded and stood up. She walked over to the door and opened it. "Wait, where are you going? What do you mean by-"
"Bye Kazu! I hope you make the right choice!" Ibuki dragged on the 'choice' in a sing-song manner.
She shut the door before Kazuichi could say anything else."Tell him?" Kazuichi pondered. He repeated the words a few more times before he realized.
"Shit, she'll tell him!"
