Chapter 1.
Today was my 19th birthday! I wasn’t really excited for me it was just another day, but for my family this was a big deal. My family is a close family of 5. My mum, dad, my older brother Jake and older sister Katie.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!. I heard my whole family scream as they walked into my room.
What time is it?. I asked sleepily.
Its time you got up lazy ass!!. Jake said
Alright fine. I said sitting up. It had only just hit me that today was my birthday a whole full 2minutes after my whole family had screamed it at me! By the time it had kicked in everyone was down stairs eating breakfast. Well apart from Katie she didn't eat very much. When I walked into the Kitchen I saw a mounting of cards on the table and a small pile of gifts as I was walking over to them Jake stopped me.
“You can only open one card before collage”.
“Why? And who are you to tell me what I can and can’t do? I said sounding a little bit pissed off.
“I’m just telling you what mum said”. Jake said walking off back upstairs.
I walked over to the table to try and pick a card to open before collage. I wanted to open a really nice one so that at least one good thing would be said to me today. I hated collage and collage hated me. I had two friends Avail lived in Ohio and Jess lived here in LA. I used to have a lot of friends when I was younger but now I only have two. As I was shifting through the cards I found one at the bottom of the pile. It was in a black envelope and had my name written in white on the front.
“This card looks nice” I said. This made Katie walk over to me.
“You can’t open that one yet” she said taking it off me and running upstairs.
“Why can’t I? It’s my birthday after all.”
“I know but the person who gave you this cards wants you to open it last. You were meant to pick the first card.” She said out of breath after she had run away from me.
“Fine!” I said. I was kind of angry but decided to let it go. I went back to the pile of cards and took the first one I saw it was pink. I guessed that it was from an old family member who hadn’t seen me since my pink days when I was 12. When I pulled the card out of the envelope it had a black rose on it and had HAPPY BIRTHDAY written in big letters. The message on the inside was.
Dear Khole.
Happy 19th Birthday!! I hope you liked the pink envelope!! Have a great day x

I raced upstairs to give my sister a light hug. I didn’t want to hug her to hard in case she broke in two!!
“Katie I love the card thank you!” I said really happily.
“I’m glad you liked it”. She said then continued to put her make up on.
AFTER COLLAGE
I couldn’t wait to open the rest of my cards! Collage had been crap just like every other day. I raced home when I got to my front drive I saw that there was a big tour Bus outside my house. Was Jake going away on tour on my birthday? After he promised me he would stay home today? I hoped not. Just as I was about to put me key in the door someone called my name from behind it was Josh an old ex boyfriend of mine. I hated him now and he hated me. Now he just called me names, punched me and would spread rumours about me none of them were true.
“Oi!! You dirty emo fag! Why don’t you go hide in an alley way and die nobody wants you here anymore”
I turned round to see my Ex Boyfriend Josh. We used to like the same music and fashion but then he changed. He turned into one of these boys you thought it was cool to hang around alley ways at 1:00am and get drunk all the time.
