Amelie's pov
The day is almost over, just two classes left. Then I get to go home and do more work for this torture chamber. This period isn't half bad though. It's my study hall, which is practically my free period. Isobel's even in this class.
As we enter, I also notice that Finn's here too. Honestly, there's a lot of people in this class that I'm friends with.
"Oh hey, Amelie!" Logan calls me and motions for me and Isobel to go sit with her. She's already talking with Michael and Evelyn. Finn later comes over to join us too. We sit and chat for the hour, getting absolutely no homework or studying done.
After the bell rings, we all go our separate ways. I head off to my last class of the day. When I walk through the doorway, I'm joined by Finn.
"Ugh, why is the school day so long?" he groans.
"Must suck, I only have one class left." I get to go home early because I've earned enough credits over the past two years that I don't need to go full days.
"Take me with you." he jokingly pleaded. I laughed and we got to a split in the hallway where we would now go our separate ways.
"I missed your teasing," he says to me.
"The feeling is mutual." I agree. He smiles at me, waves goodbye, and we both go off to class.
Finn's pov
I forgot how wonderful her presence was. I forgot how much fun she was to be around. I thought that locker buddies was all we would ever be, but now I'm not sure that's enough. She just brightens my day. I know I sound pity but I need someone like that. My house no longer feels like home and school feels like a prison. I thought one of these days, it might just push me over the edge.
She's like, my comfort character. Everything about her is soft and comforting. From her dark brown hair, to her converse high tops.
I don't like her. Like that.
But she makes me feel safe somehow.
