It's the next day and everyone is sitting together. Ron, Raven, Hermione, and Harry sitting next to or across from each other. Everyone in the Great Hall is gossiping about who their dates are to the Yule Ball.

Harry and Ron are whining about not having a date while Hermione is fangirling over hers, Viktor Krum, a boy from the Durmstrang Institute. Hermione then asks Raven about her plan for the ball. "So...do you have anything exciting going on for the ball?" "Um, I guess so." Raven vaguely replies. "So that means you have a date, correct?" Hermione says while leaning forward for an answer. "Well yeah, I do have a date but it's nothing serious." Harry and Ron stop their whining fest to tune into what Raven was going to say. "So who is it?" Hermione says impatiently. "Well, um, it's a boy, from a different house. That's all." Raven says while trying to quickly change the subject. "Who's the boy?" Ron says with a blank expression on his face. Raven then turns to Ron, looking nervously, knowing that he and the others, especially him, won't like the answer. "Yeah, who is this dashing boy you decided to take with you?" Harry says with a sarcastic smirk. "Draco...Malfoy.." Raven finally states.

All three of them went quiet. Hermione looking a little angry, Harry looking shocked and confused, and Ron looking furiously at Raven. "Are you mental?! Going with Malfoy to the ball?!" Ron says angrily. "Look, he asked me because we both didn't have a date, and I said yes. We're going as friends, nothing more." "That's rubbish! Have you seen the way Malfoy looks at you. He clearly has a thing for you. And he's most likely using the Yule Ball as an opportunity to ask you out." Hermione speaks up. "So what? Why do you guys care about him asking me, as a friend, to a small little dance?!" Raven says. "Raven, have you not been around these past few years?! He's bullied us for years and you're willingly taking him as a date?!" Ron responds. "Oh my Merlin Ron. He apologized and hasn't said anything to us since then. He knows better than to mess with you guys while I'm still around. And I thought you guys were okay with each other. You know what, I'm just going to go to class early today." Raven screams back and gets up and leaves the Great Hall with all her things.
