They said it was ok.
They said it didn't matter.
They said they'd forget.
I shouldn't have believed them.
Shouldn't have. Shouldn't have. Shouldn't have.
They said it wasn't my fault.
They said accidents happen.
They said I should move on.
My fault. My fault. My fault.
He said he was sorry.
He said he'd love me.
He said this was forever.
Never. Never. Never.
She said she wouldn't leave.
She sung songs.
She said us against the world.
Songs. Songs. Songs.
I believed every single one of them, after all they are my family so why wouldn't I? I believed them when I shouldn't have. I believed that it wasn't my fault, I believed when he said he would never leave just like I believed when she sang. That was then, I was 12– this time will be different. I'll be different. Nothing will matter. Just me and him, a new him. He's different right? He loves me doesn't he? He's said so a million times but I do wonder how many of those were a lie, an exaggeration.
It doesn't matter.
I love him.
