TWENTY-THREE
Brianna had to accept that she wasn't going to leave London with Freddie.
And that it was her own mistake for not checking the requirements to emigrate. So, in a way she was forced to make a decision.
She still needed to make it to California because she had an interview in person for this new brand that offered her a permanent modelling job.
But she wasn't going to take Freddie, because of the lacking authorization, so, as desperate times call for desperate measures, she came to the decision of leaving Freddie with me, for ten days in London, while she was abroad. And I was more than happy to help.
Ten days alone with my boy. This was my chance to redeem myself, to show Brianna with actions.
To be the present parent I needed to be.I explained the situation to my boss and he gave me two days off to stay home with Freddie.
Bless him.At first it was alright.
It was an easy transition for Freddie. He seemed happy to spend this week and a half with me and Niall.
Since Niall worked only at night at the bar, we spent the entirety of those two first days with him.
The day I had to return to work and Niall was the one that stayed home with Freddie, was when it clicked.Freddie shouldn't be at home everyday.
He told me he missed school, he missed seeing his friends and I knew that Freddie couldn't be without education much longer. He had already lost three weeks since his mother took him out of the previous one.
School year wasn't over yet, and if Brianna was postponing her moving to USA until she got the authorization, Freddie needed to at least continue it here.
Right?There was no other choice.
I wanted him to return to classes as soon as possible. But I still needed to consult with Brianna first.
I sent a quick text to her, a simple hey, I was thinking about finding a new daycare here in London for Freddie, what do you say? At least until you guys move to California.
And with all honesty, I didn't think she'll agreed that easily, but she did, replying with just a hey, fine, I thought about that too. Let me know if you find any place good enough.
Which I could definitely do.
So, with her on board, after work I returned home with the idea in mind to find a new, temporary, daycare for Freddie.
One that could convince Brianna, was close to my place, was open to inscriptions, and that Freddie would likely enjoy.
Which after a few tries, I understood it was a nearly impossible request.
I called several daycares, asking every time if inscriptions were open for kids that needed to start right now, and every time they told me no.
I even called the ones that weren't as close to my building, but everyone said the same to us, he couldn't start in the middle of the semester, he was going to interrupt the process. Not only for his education, but for the other kids as well.
If we wanted to apply to any of those, we would have to wait till the semester is over.
I wanted to have at least a few options to discuss with Brianna later tonight, so I was not going to give up on my search, even if it meant stay all night long just googling London daycares.
