5:45 pmI have decided to leave Vienna because the amount of casualties from the constant hurricane-like storms and earthquakes is astounding. Yes, you heard me correctly; earthquakes in the middle of Europe. Until this day there have been no records whatsoever of such extreme natural occurrences in this region. However, considering that my apartment building has been utterly destroyed in the midst of all of this, I have no other choice but to move on. The strangest thing is that all forms of electricity and public transport are still in running order. I write this as I am sitting on a train headed for Prague as I watch the television give somber updates about the newest known casualties. I am on my way to Prague because my cousin Carter lives there and he is the only family I have in Europe that hasn't shunned me thus far. Also, Carter is a world-known scientist that's known for his incredible theories. He is a genius if there ever was one, but at the same time, over the years he has slowly began to deteriorate and go insane. I remember him bolting his house and furniture items to the ground a couple of years ago in case this kind of emergency occurred. Back then, it sounded crazy, but now, his house is probably one of the only stable places in Europe. Anyways, knowing Carter, he'd be investigating these strange occurrences and trying to figure out what is causing all of this and how it can be stopped. As I look out of my window, I can see nothing but swirls of dark clouds and buildings being crushed from the tremendous blows of Mother Nature. It's almost like there's a clear barrier protecting the train from the outside world, because all of the terrible events are hitting everywhere but the train. As I stare outside, I feel like I am watching one of those movies where the world is ending. My heart drops. Everything I have worked so hard for in life has all been swept away in an instant. What could have caused all this mayhem? Was my family in the United States dealing with all of this as well? I decided not to think about that now and to just focus on two things: surviving and finding Carter. If anyone can solve this extreme epidemic, it's him. I truly believe that he is the only hope for humanity in Europe, possibly the world.
