10:55 amI'm still traveling with Johann. After a restless night sleep from the both of us, we decided to continue our travels. I've learned that Johann is, or was, an owner of a small café in Venice, Italy. I asked him what a Venetian such as himself was doing on a train in Vienna, but he refused to tell me any other information besides that he was originally planning on going to Poland. For what reason, I have yet to find out. Although friendly when it comes to casual conversation, Johann is very shy about his personal life. One odd thing I noticed about him were his eyes. One of his eyes is brown, while the other is a pale blue. He refuses to tell me why they are like that, but says that there is a reason for them being that way. It apparently wasn't genetic. Fair enough. I've only known him for a few hours, after all. We didn't talk much while we were walking and it was extremely awkward. When he asked me what career path I had chosen before the disasters started occurring, I lied. Yeah, I know I shouldn't lie, but I'm just not sure if I can trust him just yet. I told him that I had worked at a small bicycle repair shop. Yes, I did go to a bike shop frequently because I biked pretty much everywhere, but that wasn't where I actually worked. He continued to show interest in my life before the disasters, which made me a little uncomfortable. One other thing that I noticed about Johann was that he stutters a lot, and because of that, seems to be self conscious and speaks very softly. Anyways, we continued walking for a couple of miles before the pain in my leg was too much to bear. I knew Carter's house was at least another 150 miles from where we were and told Johann that it would be impossible for us to get there on foot without food and water, especially considering my current physical state. Luckily, he had some granola bars on his backpack. We took a break, ate, and continued to walk for a little while. Natural disasters were occurring, but luckily, they were far enough away that we could avoid them. We're incredibly lucky. I just hope that we can find some mode of transportation soon.
