Over at Grey House, the trio was hanging out in the kitchen talking about a very popular topic: Nick and London."So, how's your London essay going?" Graced asked curiously.
"I finished it," Nick stated with a weak smile.
"I thought you'd be happier," Grace replied bak with a confused look on her face.
"Yeah, I thought you would be happy to leave this town and never hear another sarcastic comment from me again?"
"The more I find out, the less happy I get," Nick revealed to the girls.
"Okay, well let's hope that's not the opening sentence to your essay," Grace joked causing Xander to high-five her.
"You don't have to go, Nick."
"Hi, Cassie," Nick and Xander greeted Grace's mom as she walked into the kitchen and hung her coat up.
"Hey."
"Hi mom."
"Hey. Oh..."
"What?" Grace asked nervously.
"You've cinnamon on your nose," Cassie pointed out to her daughter.
"Nick! Xand! Not cool," Grace said letting out a gasp as she wiped the spice off her nose. Grace threw some cinnamon at the two causing Nick to shove Xander in front of him so he didn't get hit by the flying spice.
"We must have missed that," Xander said laughing as she tried to push Nick in front of her.
"I should go home," Nick commented after Grace stopped throwing the cinnamon at her two best friends.
"Aw," Cassie said as she finished washing her hands.
"Bye Cassie. Bye Grace," Nick happily spoke before giving Xander a jokingly side glare. "Xander."
"Nick," Xander copied him back as the Cassie and Grace replied back with "bye Nick."
"I love cinnamon," Grace admitted to her mom as she walked closer to the two young girls.
"Ever since you were a baby," Cassie pointed out.
"Cinnamaldehyde, the main ingredient in cinnamon and has great health benefits," Cassie muttered.
"And the sugar and butter?" Xander pressed.
"Oh, those just taste good," Cassie chuckled.
"You love baking," Cassie told Grace with a smile on her face. "Unlike this one," Cassie added as she pointed over her shoulder towards Xander.
"So true," Xander admitted shaking her head as Grace agreed with her mom.
"I mean, I love doing it but ... it's not like cooking or baking is my thing."
"And you're looking for that thing?"
"Yeah. I mean, I love school and my internship but ..."
"But you want something else," Cassie finished her daughter's thought.
"Did you ever feel like this, mom?"
"I was 16 once, too."
"So, what's the secret? The trick?" Xander asked curiously.
"Well, I discovered a long time ago that focusing on other people's needs brought me joy and made me feel complete."
"So, that is your thing?" Grace asked her mother.
"That's one of my things, yeah."
The next day at school, Nick met up with Grace and Xander in the hallways. "Or are you struggling with something new?" Grace asked Nick.
