The last thing that Nate expected on his first day at job would be to watch as the doors of the gas station opened suddenly to reveal two gorillas carrying a man in a suit covered in blood and debris.

"Shit..." cursed the man in the suit as he was lowered in the floor, by one of his gorilla-like bodyguards-who were also wearing suits that must have been elegant at some point-as he held his bleeding side with a hand.

"Perimeter is clean, young master, the boy is the only one in the store."
Nate couldn't believe it and before he knew it, he was already screaming at them in panic.

"What the hell dude? I-I'm calling the police, no an ambulance, I will- "

Immediately the sound of a trigger was heard making the whole store silent as Nate felt the cold sensation of the gun's metal barrel against his temple.

"Don't mess with us boy. This is not your problem." Said one of the gorillas before taking out a wad of bills and throwing it onto the counter. "Close the doors and the windows, this place is closed for tonight."

Nate nodded, and immediately obeying the gorilla's words as soon as the gun moved from his head.

At the same time, both gorilla-like bodyguards exchanged a nod before hurrying to look for the materials to aid their young master and run back to him in a matter of seconds.

"Ugh, fuck! Cavill!" screamed the man in the floor.

"I'm here young master. Please endure the pain for a moment." Answered one of the bodyguards, Cavill, who seemed to be the oldest with a mix of grey and black hairs perfectly combed back and a light beard even though he seemed to have just escaped a disaster.

Nate looked at him as stealthily as he could, feeling shivers run down his spine as he noticed the wide red scar that covered the oldest man's face form his left eye-noticeable blind-to his temple.

The simple feature along with the defined muscles even underneath the suit and the many small injuries that covered him form head to toe definitely made him look like a character worth giving the chills.

The man cried in pain as both bodyguards tended to his wounds with concentration and Nate seized the chance to take a glance at the second bodyguard, certainly younger than Cavill but with a figure double as muscular as his, with dark skin and a shaved head.

For the way the behaved it wasn't difficult to understand that they were the bodyguards of the man in the floor, definitely the 'young master' forms some rich but corrupted family.

Just looking at the way they had suddenly entered a gas station in the middle of the night when not even the sound of tires screeching against the asphalt could be heard outside, Nate could safely affirm that they were in some deep illegal trouble.

Yet, he kept his mouth shut as he turned off most of the lights in the gas station to avoid suspicious.

"Fuck, we weren't on time to grab the safe" grumbled the man of the shaved head.

"We weren't even sure that the papers were there. We should've considered it could be a trap for the young master."

"Why would the snake bastard put a trap without looking at the contents of the safe first? It makes no sense!"

"The safe probably had nothing. We were still too late."

Both men finished tending to their boss's wound y quickly stood up holding him up before the shaved man pointed at Nate with his gun.

"You didn't see or hear anything in here. Clean the disaster and the security footage if you know what's good for you."

Nate nodded. Looking at them without a word, but it wasn't the shaved man who answered, instead, a pair of bright blue eyes shining with un-spilled tears between red hairs gave him a last glance before the three men disappeared in the darkness of the night.

The only thing left, was the small pool of blood and the scattered bandages on the floor.

Nate clicked his tongue, relaxing his posture before grabbing his cellphone from the pocket of his jeans and quickly making a call.

"You know what you have to do?" asked the voice in the other side as soon as the call connected.

"No shit, Ted. Did you really make me come here in the middle of the night just to watch this? I have a frail heart, you know? I was scared."

The voice in the other side of the line, cackled.

"Maybe the real Nate, but you? You're a vicious bastard."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Answered the boy leaving the old baseball cap over the counter to take the wad of bills.

'50 dollars. Did they really try to pay my silence with 50-dollar bills?' he though as he continued to count them.

There probably wasn't any more than 5,000 dollars in total. Did they mistake him for some cheap whore? Not even Ted was that cheap.

"Yes, yes, whatever you say, Kade. Either way, I sent the rest of the information to your apartment. I guess you'll go there before coming back to the base?"

"Sure" answered Kade before hanging the call and looking at himself in the mirror.

Grimacing, he took off the uniform shirt of the gas station to be left with in the black sweater and pants he wore underneath.

His brown eyes, no, this time...was it a tone between yellow and brown? Looked back at him from the mirror and he smiled.

Outside the gas station, the sun was beginning to rise in the horizon.

"Ah, nothing like the smell of gunpowder in the morning."
