Next week in the 1 year anniversary of your (boyfriend's/girlfriend's) death. You dated throughout middle school and high school, and as you were graduating college last year, they'd promised to marry you the following year. This year. But, fate concluded that it wasn't in the cards, and the love of your life was taken from you on that fatal night just a year ago. The reports say that they'd been shot once in the head, and that foul play was involved, though they had no real leads as to who the murderer was.
There was one suspect, (Bias). A local gang wannabe who has a record of being at the wrong place, wrong time, and this isn't the first time he'd gotten himself wrapped up in a homicide case, although had all previous times been acquitted.
You've watched the interview videos from the police station, watching as (Bias) told the story of how (boyfriend/girlfriend) had secretly been wrapped up in the gang, pissing off a powerful leader. All the things (Bias) confessed told you so much about your (boyfriend/girlfriend), and you realized that there seemed to be a lifetime supply of information that your dearest had been keeping from you.
But, even through that, something didn't sit right with you about (Bias.) And you knew that they werent telling the full truth, so you're doing with any other scorned lover would do: getting to the bottom of it.
Through your convincing charms and seductive nature, you convince (Bias) to trust you, and through that learn more about the case than you would have cared for.
