Superhero Kiss

"We should probably go check on her, Plagg," Adrien mumbled, watching Marinette run away from the school. "Claws out!"

He jumped across the city, making his way toward the Dupain-Cheng bakery. Finally he saw her standing on the balcony. And slowly floating toward her was an akuma! "Marinette! Watch out!"

"Huh?" she said, looking up at him confused.

"Cataclysm!" he called, catching the butterfly so he could destroy it before it got to the brokenhearted girl. "Marinette! I'm so glad I got to you in time!"

"Chat Noir? How did you know I was upset?"

"I, uh...heard some friends talking about it?"

"Oh, no! News spread that fast!? I can't believe it! I was rejected by Adrien Agreste...of course his fans already know about it! Ugh, this is such a nightmare," she said, putting her hands on her head.

Chat smiled weakly; he was disappointed in the way he had handled things. Perhaps he had acted too quickly at the school, I mean, if Ladybug hadn't shown in interest in him by now she probably never would. Maybe it would be better if he gave up on her and agreed to go out with Marinette instead.

He couldn't help himself--suddenly he was reaching out to Marinette, pulling her into him for a hug. Marinette's eyes turned wide as she realized Chat had hugged her, and she realized how different she felt without the mask. Without her identity to protect, it was much easier to imagine being with Chat Noir as a couple....

Out of nowhere, Chat's ring beeped, reminding them that he only had a few minutes before he turned back to his civilian form.

"Sorry Mari, but I gotta go. It'll get better, I promise. Come find me if you need a friend." And with that, he was gone.

It was only watching him bounce away that Marinette realized that somehow, inexplicably, she had decided to open her heart up to the possibility of being with Chat Noir.

The next day, while on patrol, Ladybug made a point of finding Chat Noir. He was sitting on top of a building humming to himself, staring at the setting sun.

"You better get home soon kitty. It would be a shame for you to catch a cold." she said, smiling at him. When he turned around, it was like looking at him for the first time; his eyes were a radiant green that stood out clearly amongst the blues and oranges of the sky, and--had his muscles always been that big? She found herself blushing profusely, thinking, It's a good thing he can't see my blush behind this mask.

"Oh, hello my lady," he said with a grin. Ok, so maybe he wasn't ready to move on from Ladybug just yet. But he had time! He had a feeling Marinette wouldn't find another Adrien quickly. "So, why'd you call me here? You said a stakeout mission?"

"Oh well, um, about that...I actually just wanted to talk to you for a while." Oops. She had forgotten she'd told him they'd be out all night.

"Oh, ok. I'm fine not staying out all night, I could actually use a catnap." When Ladybug giggled at his pun, he realized it was probably the first time she'd ever done that. He couldn't help but think she looked nicer laughing than scowling at some akumatized victim.

"Great. So, um, here's the thing. I think I'm falling for you Chat Noir." She risked a glance at his face, seeing his jaw drop and eyes get wider. "I always thought that you and I were meant to be partners, maybe friends, nothing more. But then...yesterday the boy I liked, um, well...he rejected me. And I realized that he was the only thing stopping me from loving you. I'm so sorry I kept rejecting you, I just...I just needed more time..."

She was surprised when he didn't say "I love you" back. Instead he stood up in a defensive pose, stick at the ready. "Oh no you don't little sentimonster, you think I don't recognize you? Where's Mayura?! And what did you do with the real Ladybug?!"

"No wait Chat it's me! I promise! Chat, knock it off."

"Tell me something only the real Ladybug would know!"

"Ok, um...well, I know that you know Marinette is Mulmouse. Would a sentimonster know that, little cat?"

Putting his stick away and smiling softly, Chat said, "I guess not. But, my lady, are you serious?" He hoped she was serious. It was more than he could hope for, Ladybug finally falling for him. Of course he felt bad for Marinette, but really, it's not like she would ever know he and Ladybug were a thing.

It hit him like lightning--wait. Ladybug had been rejected today...he had rejected Marinette.... All of a sudden, Chat had a new suspicion of who was under Ladybug's mask.

Not that he could let Ladybug know about his idea, though. Then she'd probably guess who he was too, and hate him for rejecting her at school. So instead he sent her a mischievous grin; "So, what happens now my lady?"

"Well, I guess it's settled kitty. We're officially together. I guess if Nadja or Alya ask, we just tell them the truth. Is that alright with you?"

Oh yes. It was more than he could hope for. "Yes purrincess," he said, leaning towards her. It was amazing the effect he now had on her; she was red just from him being this close, and they weren't even touching yet!

Ladybug backed up, hands on the edge of the building. She wasn't afraid of Chat but she was afraid of getting lost in his mesmerizing green eyes....

She didn't know how, but suddenly they were kissing, and it was like they were the only ones in the world. Ladybug knew they could make headlines tomorrow with this kiss, but she didn't care. She tugged his bell, pulling him closer to her. It was her first kiss that wasn't a dare, and she felt somehow more powerful knowing that she had done it; she had finally been kissed for real.

When it had gone on for so long she knew anyone in Paris would feel uncomfortable watching them, Ladybug stood up. "Sorry cat, but I should be going. I didn't tell my parents before I left, so they might be worried."

"It's ok. I should be getting back too. See you tomorrow, my lady." And with a swift kiss and the push of his stick, he was gone.

She watched him go, reliving how it felt to be on the edge of the roof, relying on someone else to keep her up. It was a relief but it was also scary knowing she had given someone the power to break her heart.

Hiii! Damn ok now we're starting to get somewhere with the LadyNoir stuff! Also, just a heads up, if you want smut this is not the book for you xD I'm going to try to make this fanfic kids friendly, plus I don't really know how to write smut if I'm being honest. Well I hope you guys enjoyed this second chapter, I know it's still short compared to other books but it was a little longer this time. Love you guys, I hope you enjoy this fanfic!
