Mistake #26

A week had passed since Yokozawa and Kirishima's rowdy Halloween together. Somehow Kirishima had managed to spin a story that both hid the actual reasons for the "ghost noises" Hiyori heard while spurring on her creative imagination. Being the initiative taking type like her father, Hiyori has already started bringing up multiple ideas on how to solve the ghost problem. The most adorable idea so far is forming a ghost hunting club with the other residents' children.
All Yokozawa could do is smile as he gave full support behind her idea. Kirishima not only encouraged her, but gave her a bunch of tips on how the get the club started. Admittedly, the plan he laid out for Hiyori was impressive. Yokozawa guessed that Kirishima's own experience with various groups and clubs during college paid off in these circumstances. After helping Hiyori work out a few things, Hiyori had set a meeting for this afternoon to discuss with the other children.
Being overly excited, Hiyori decided to wake up Kirishima and Yokozawa in the early hours  when the sun has just began to filter though the curtains. Neither of the men were too pleased to be up at this time on their day off. She listened to them grumble before making them a deal. She promised to make their favorite breakfasts in return for their help  setting up for her ghost hunting club presentation. Neither men could refuse the sweet little angel's pleading face.
So for an hour and a half the three of them set things up. Yokozawa and Kirishima then were shooed away by Hiyori  when their help was no longe necessary. She assumed it would be unbearable to have them overlook her meeting. The kids would not take her seriously or would look to the adults for answers instead of her. The point of the club was for the children to have each other's backs when they revealed the truth behind the ghosts.
Kirishima teases her until her face turned bright red. The small girl stood firm though and points at the door even though there is a small quiver to her lips. Proud at Hiyori's determination to push through her father's joking around, Yokozawa gives her a nod while a gentle smile spreads across his face. Yokozawa felt a little pity knowing how irritating it can be when you are on the receiving end of Kirishima's unending teasing and decided to help her out. Roughly grabbing Kirishima's arm, Yokozawa dragged Kirishima back towards the elevator telling him he needs to go back to sleep.
"Are you going to accompany me?" Kirishima seductively whispered as he stands so close his shoulder brushes against Yokozawa's.
Yokozawa rolls his eyes before stepping onto the elevator saying,"Knock it off. I swear you have too much energy for a man your age."
"I didn't hear a no," Kirishima smirks as he tugs Yokozawa through the door of the apartment.
In a matter of seconds, Kirishima has Yokozawa pinned on his back on the bed with light brown eyes clouded with lust staring down at him. His body instinctively tenses and his hands press against Kirishima's chest. 'Let it happen. Don't struggle when honestly you want this too.' Shocked by his thoughts, Yokozawa begrudgingly acknowledges that Kirishima isn't the only one looking forward to another love making session. Although it's best not to let Kirishima catch on to this realization or he will get cocky and make this another whole day affair. His body isn't able to handle that much activity so soon. But one round is manageable.
Yokozawa leans up to capture Kirishima's lips in soft kiss as a sign of acceptance of what was about to happen. Only a small noise of protest leaves his mouth as Kirishima takes the opportunity to leave Yokozawa enraptured by his cultivated sexual techniques. Two hours went by before Yokozawa got up and took a shower. Kirishima did not stir in the slightest. Yokozawa flinches as he feels a dull throb in his back. 'That bastard went a little rougher than usual on purpose. I suppose I should expect that sort of revenge from him by now.' He glares jealous at how Kirishima can sleep without a care in the world and have such a peaceful facial expression.
Yokozawa's lips twitched until settling into a loving smile as he softly closed the bedroom door. He knew he was a hopeless case when it came to Kirishima because nothing the editor does is enough to piss him off or upset Yokozawa for more than a few days if that. Going over the mental list of the usual chores he does to maintain the apartment, Yokozawa begins cleaning up from breakfast earlier. He makes a quick chicken sandwich to eat for regaining some energy lost during his previous activities.
Yokozawa goes around straightening up the rooms, cleaning the bathroom, and doing the laundry. As Yokozawa is vacuuming, he stops having though he heard angry shouts outside the door. Frowning, Yokozawa shrugs while returning to vacuuming. The salesmen wipes some sweat from his face having regrets at taking a shower before doing house work that would make him feel sticky and gross. Persistent, loud knocking at the door startled Yokozawa causing him to let out a loud yelp. At the same time he jumped a bit which lead to the vacuum cleaner tipping over.
Flustered, Yokozawa felt heat cross his face and knew it probably had a bit of red to it. Grabbing the vacuum he turned it off. The salesman would have taken time to recompose himself, but someone is continually and determinedly knocking at the door. Glancing at the bedroom door, Yokozawa hesitates as he figures that whoever was outside the door probably is here for Kirishima or Hiyori. The best option would be to get Kirishima to answer the door. 'Yeah, like hell that is happening.'
Sighing, Yokozawa resigns to having to open the door. Attempting to wake up Kirishima would be futile. Honestly, Yokozawa is amazed that Hiyori managed to get her father up with such ease even though he sleeps so deeply on his days off. There is slim to no chance Yokozawa would be able to wake him up again especially after their vigorous bedroom engagement. Moving the vacuum to the side, Yokozawa approaches the door. His eyebrows furrow when he processes how whoever was on the other side of the door has not stopped knocking. 'If this isn't some sort of emergency, I am going to be pissed.'
Making sure to bury his aggravation down, Yokozawa answers the door with a forced, polite smile. "Good morning. Is there something I can help you with?"
The young man with curly blond hair no more than 25 years old stood next to an elegantly dressed wavy haired redhead no doubt the same age or a little younger. The couple is holding hands which tighten as he answers the door. Upon his appearance, their faces clearly express shock while their eyes widened. A brief anxiety pass through the pairs of blue and green eyes. However, they both now stood with a straight posture and attempted to give off an air of authority despite being a few inches shorter than Yokozawa.
"My name is Kotaro Senji and this is my wife Lydia. We would like to have a word with you Mr. Kirishima," Senji announces as he gestures to himself and his wife. "I think it would be best to have this conversation inside."
Yokozawa is an intelligent man who understands letting these two in to talk when Kirishima is asleep is a terrible idea. So why he automatically finds himself moving aside to let this unknown couple inside with the words,"come on in," he can't exactly tell. He figures it either be due to his sales mentality or a nagging pit in his stomach that leaving them outside would lead to worse consequences then inviting them in. They take a disinterested look at the apartment then whisper to each other. Obviously, they were underwhelmed by what they saw. Their judgmental stares pissed Yokozawa off.
"As we were saying Mr. Kirishima...," Senji began.
"I'm not Kirishima. My name is  Yokozawa Takafumi," Yokozawa quickly corrected.
"Ah. I see," Senji said. "Sorry Mr. Yokozawa."
"There is no need for such formalities. Calling me Yokozawa will suffice," Yokozawa countered already drained in this crude start to their conversation.
"I am going to be blunt with you Yokozawa," Senji explains standing in front of Yokozawa with a a displeased facial expression. "I am aware of your relationship with m-I mean Kirishima who lives here. I find it distasteful for a single father to causally hook up with a man to satisfy his urges, but I understand sometimes you take what you can get."
Jaw dropping, Yokozawa could feel his face heating up as he stumbles to respond to such a rude accusation. Anger seethes within him at the boldness of this man to assume that their connection is a flimsy fling when Kirishima is in the mood. Clenching his teeth, it takes all his strength not to punch Senji in the face.
Taking to long to answer, Lydia adds, "Even more appalling is that he chooses to bring his boy toy over to a family housing apartment for everyone to see."
"I am not his boy toy or fling! I am his lover," Yokozawa shouts narrowing his eyes. He watched with some satisfaction as these assholes flinch.
The couple recovered from their surprise much quicker than most people who talk to Yokozawa. Lydia exchanged a pitying glance with her husband.
"It's fine to keep on living in denial that your relationship is actually more than friends with benefits or meaningful beyond the physical aspect," Senji dismisses Yokozawa's words not seeming to sense how much danger his words were putting him in. "I'm here to discuss the loud moaning which has increased tremendously in volume. I mean on Halloween night most of the families in this complex could hear you."
Despite the searing anger practically filling him to the point of bursting, those last words made him pause. A flood of shame rushed through him at having such a private topic being so boldly thrown in his face. Yokozawa felt awkward having about having this conversation with a couple that belittled the full aspect of his relationship with Kirishima. Cursing silently, Yokozawa grew frustrated at how a blush stole over his face when he deserved to be angry at the disrespect he received from this couple.
"And could you believe that people actually covered for the noises created during this indecent affair by telling some ridiculous story about the complex being haunted," Senji exclaimed as he rolled his eyes.
Yokozawa bit his lip as he trembled. He could feel every ounce of his self restraint keeping him from yelling at this couple crumbling. The nerve of this couple to stroll in here and run their mouths. 'I'm going to kill them.' Yokozawa had stopped listening to their little rant but tuned in too hear the words that were his breaking point for acting with any sort of civility.
"To get back to the main point. This is a family housing complex. So we would appreciate if you refrained your reckless and disturbing bedroom sessions in this building. I'm sure any slump of a motel would serve you well. It's on the best interest for everyone. We don't want you to corrupt our children or make our jobs any more difficult by having to continually cover for your actions. Plus his little girl deserves better, don't you think," Senji pointed out wearing a smirk that rubbed Yokozawa in the wrong way.
"Who the fuck gives you any right to come in here to lecture us on how to live our lives," Yokozawa shouts out as he gives in to the rage built up inside.
"Well there is no need for that..-"Lydia weakly protest, then shuts up as Yokozawa's full glare gets directed at her.
"No it's time for you assholes to shut the fuck up," Yokozawa snarls causing the couple to shiver in fright. "It's one thing if you have a noise complaint. I can understand that. I have discussed that with Kirishima. We have already made plans to handle it."
"Well then we can go," Senji said as he takes a step back towards the door.
"I'm not done," Yokozawa growls halting them in their tracks. "I will not stand for you shit talking my family. I'm Kirishima's lover who is here to support him through whatever comes his way. I am completely loyal and only give myself to him due to the love and respect we have for each other. And Hiyori is my daughter who I pour my heart and soul into help raise and protect from all the wasteful assholes of the world like you."
The couple were motionless. Their jaws went down to the ground. A dusting of red covered their face as they struggled to react to Yokozawa's heartfelt speech. Anger danced in their eyes at being unfairly insulted in their opinion. The couple found Yokozawa to be unreasonable and in need of a lecture. Just as Senji and Lydia were getting ready to make a rebuke, an ominous aura entered the room. For some reason, Senji and Lydia could swear their lives were in danger. Having been in the middle of exchanging questioning glances the couple turned as they heard a yelp.
Kirishima had entered the room having sensed Yokozawa being troubled by something. Or in this case someone. Kirishima wraps his arms around Yokozawa's waist. His facial features were deceptively blank as he took a minute to snuggle into Yokozawa's neck. He then lifted his head to direct sharp light brown eyes on the unknown occupants in his house.
"Who are you?" Kirishima asks in a quiet tone.
"I'm Kotaro Senji and this is my wife Lydia. You must be Kirishima. It's good to finally meet the owner of the apartment. Surely you will be more logical and reasonable then your fling was,"Senji's voice trembles and he gulps when he sees Kirishima's eyes narrow to slits.
Kirishima straightens up and goes to stand in front of the couple whose face as turned pale and were huddling together. The editor did not even need to say anything for the intimidating aura and pure fury filled emotion expressed across his face to utterly terrify the foolish young couple. Senji and Lydia made a grave mistake believing that Kirishima would take their sides. By the way his lips curved and the how dangerously close he stood to the couple, they were no doubt going to find out.
"So you two have dared to come into my home and give the love of my life unnecessary grief," Kirishima spit out eyes locked on the guilty party. "Let me start by telling you that this is the most generous, kind hearted, loyal, dedicated lover and all around good natured person you will ever find. I would never treat him with anything less than the love and respect he deserves. You should feel ashamed at how cruelly you treated him based on a horrendously misconstrued representation of our relationship. You are low life, assholes who don't actually care about anyone, but yourselves and should be honored he even wasted his breath on you."
"W-" Senji tried to squeak out in a low voice.
"Don't you fucking dare interrupt me," Kirishima hissed making both couples back into a wall. "If you have a problem with what happens in this apartment, make sure you have the balls to take it up with me. If you come here to have a civil conversation like a decent human being then I will be more than happy to hear you out. If you ever disrespect my lover again or dare to speak this way with my daughter, I promise that when I am done with you your life will forever be a living hell. You will no longer feel safe anywhere anywhere you go. You will wish that "ghosts" were your only problem. I will be the worst nuisance and nightmare fuel you will ever face in your life."
Yokozawa silently watched feeling his heart thump as Kirishima displays his protective and possessive nature. He supposes that he should feel bad for the couple who have sank to the ground in fear and whose faces are a ghostly white color. The only thing Yokozawa really felt was admiration and appreciation for Kirishima putting them in their place. The salesman wished he could have defended his family on his own, but he is well aware that one of the reasons their partnership works so well is that Kirishima knows where his limit is at. In this case, Yokozawa is certain he would have had a hard time getting through to this rude couple.
"Now that I have said my piece, is there something you would like to talk about? Maybe you think we are being too loud?" Kirishima asks in the same tone he uses when talking to his coworkers.
"N-nooo! We have no problems! You two keep doing as you are. W-we have to go," Senji and Lydia spike in unison.
"Oh really? Are you sure you don't want to stay a little longer?" Kirishima asked his lips curved in a devilish smirk. Clearly, Kirishima intended on continuing to torment the already terrorized couple.
"We are taking our leave! Bye," Senji announced as he grabbed Lydia's hand and panicked.
Senji's hand shook so bad that he couldn't grasp the door handle. Kirishima came up from behind causing the couple to dodge roughly to the side well out of his way. Kirishima opens the door with a dangerous smile. "Come back anytime."
The couple dart out of the apartment back to the safety of their own without looking back. Kirishima chuckles content with having scared them so bad. The couple had it coming to them the second they thought it would be okay to insult his family in the slightest.
Turning back, Kirishima walks over to stand in front of Yokozawa with the soft and loving expression. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Yokozawa said, relieved to have the apartment to themselves. After a brief pause Yokozawa mutters,"I'm surprised you came out when you did given how sound asleep you typically are on the weekends."
"I will always come to rescue you. You should know this by now," Kirishima softly says gently rubbing Yokozawa's head.
"I didn't need rescuing," Yokozawa stubbornly protested while swatting the hand away. When he really stopped to think about it everything went way smoother after Kirishima arrived.
Yokozawa hides his face in Kirishima's neck before mumbling, "Thanks for the help, Zen"
Kirishima uses a finger to lift his head and responds, "Anytime, anywhere Takafumi."
Kirishima kisses Yokozawa and slides a tongue in relishing the shiver that he elicits from Yokozawa. He moves his hands lower down on Yokozawa's back towards his butt.
"No more today," Yokozawa huffs out meeting Kirishima's eyes to displaying his seriousness on the matter.
"That's fine," Kirishima relents leading Yokozawa over to the couch.
Kirishima noticed how his lover appeared tired and in need of a nap.  Sitting down, Kirishima pulls Yokozawa down so his head is lying in his lap. Yokozawa glared sleepily at him. Of course, Kirishima found this to be adorable and started to gently stroke Yokozawa's hair. Yokozawa went from squirming to calm within a few minutes. He did instinctively try to bat away Kirishima's hand at first, but gave in the blissful relaxation that this situation brought him.
"Hey Takafumi, when you wake up will you repeat what you said earlier? About our relationship? About us?" Kirishima inquires watching Yokozawa struggle to keep his eyes open.
"Mhmmm," Yokozawa hummed in agreement as he fell asleep.
Kirishima kisses him on the forehead. "Sleep well. It may be cheating, but I am holding you to this since you agreed."

             ______________________

"No way in hell," Yokozawa growled, shaking his head in disbelief.
"You told me you would repeat it for me," Kirishima pointed out with pleading eyes.
"I'm not going to follow through on some half-assed agreement I made as I fell asleep," Yokozawa rebuked watching Kirishima creep closer.
"Please it's just be between you and me. I really need to hear this," Kirishima pathetically begged.
Yokozawa's resolve had finally crumbled when Hiyori came through the door with bright eyes and a beaming smile. She ran over and threw her arms around her parents. Hiyori pulled away eagerly shifting from foot to foot.
"Well don't keep us in suspense! How did the ghost hunting club go over?" Kirishima inquires shooting Yokozawa a glance that said he got lucky this time.
"It went over amazingly! All the children ages six and up from the apartment building showed up! I can't believe it had such a turn out!" Hiyori excitedly squealed.
"I'm happy for you Hiyori," Yokozawa said, smiling at the young girl.
The three of them sat on the couch. Hiyori spent an hour explaining all that happened during the presentation. Yokozawa and Kirishima asked a question from time to time but mostly let Hiyori speak to her hearts content.
"You know what was a little strange? All the parents in the complex were being super supportive of the idea. They even said that they expected the ghost noises to become more frequent and normal of an occurrence," Hiyori explained glancing back and forth between Kirishima and Yokozawa. "Do you also think so?"
"I guess only time will tell," Kirishima answers in a mischievous tone throwing a suggestive glance Yokozawa's way. Yokozawa flipped him off when Hiyori was not paying attention.
"The anytime, anywhere goes for fucking as well," Kirishima teasingly whispers in Yokozawa's ear smirking at the grumpy blushing face he received.
Hiyori continued speaking ruining any chance for Yokozawa to respond, so he settled on glaring at Kirishima until Hiyori looked directly at them.
"The other strange thing is that the neighbors who are usually standoffish and kind of mean were being really friendly today. It was a nice change," Hiyori chirped as she snuggled into both men. "I don't know what got into them, but I hope it stays that way."
"Oh I'm sure it will," Kirishima responds petting her head and watching her blush. He then turns to meet Yokozawa's eyes. Both men smile as they move to snuggle closer with Hiyori. Since their daughter requested it, Kirishima and Yokozawa were damned well going to make sure it happened.

So this idea came to me thanks to CielSempaii . We were talking in the comments and I though this was an amusing idea. It turned out a lot different then I originally thought it would, but I think it's good this way. It kind of a continuation/consequence from Halloween special #3. Anyway I hope people enjoy. The character thoughts are in italics. Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes. Til next time! Bye!
