Alyssa awoke suddenly, sweat beading on her chest. She looked around and then saw Jeremy lying near her. She crawled a bit closer and then shook him. He awoke and then looked at her. "Jeremy?" she whispered as he nodded. She kissed him and he kissed her back. "I think today's the day we must act," she whispered as he shrugged. "You wanna-?" she asked as she reached for his belt. "You're married, hon. What if your husband finds-?" Jeremy asked as she kissed him again. "He won't mind. Besides, I think he's cheating on me," she said as he undid his belt. They undressed each other and then stared at each other. "You're so beautiful, Aly. If that damn Marine wants to cheat, then he's a damn fool," Jeremy said as she snuggled close to him. "How should we do this?" he whispered as she nibbled his ear. "Like we're at camp and trying not to get caught, hon," she whispered as he smiled. "You ready then, Commie?" he growled as she murmured her agreement...
***A few hours later***
Alyssa rolled off Jeremy, panting. "Wow, kid. You're amazing," Jeremy said, breathlessly. He took her hand and then stared at the ceiling. "So are you," she said as he laughed. They both heard Andrew stir and then pulled the blanket over themselves. "What time is it?" he asked as he saw them together. "Oh. That early, huh?" he asked as he laughed. "Don't worry. It's happened to me, too," he said as a guard came and opened the door. "The two men, come with me," he said as Jeremy stood and pulled on his clothes. He kissed Alyssa again and then winked at her. "See you, Commie," he whispered as he walked away. Alyssa stood and then pulled on her clothes. She leaned against the wall and then hummed. Zalesky opened her cell again and then motioned for her to follow. Alyssa followed and then stopped in front of the showers. "Go in, my friend. I'll bring you clean clothes once you're finished," she said as Alyssa went into the showers. She stood under the water and then ran her fingers through her hair. It fell in wet tangles down her back as the water turned off. Zalesky entered with fresh clothing and gave them to Alyssa. She quickly dressed as Zalesky pulled out a brush. "Here. Thought you might want to untangle the bird's nest that's currently residing on your head," she said as Alyssa smiled. She brushed her hair and then braided it back. "I can see what that boy sees in you, dorogoy*. You're very beautiful," Zalesky said as she took back her brush. She smiled and then dropped her smile. "General Harkov wants to speak to you," she said as she escorted Alyssa to the main room. Alyssa saw Jeremy being held back while Andrew was being punched. Grigorvich grabbed Alyssa and then held her back as Kowaleski adjusted a pair of brass knuckles on his knuckles. "My finally game is seeing if you'll let me beat the shit out of your president," he said as he turned back to Andrew. Alyssa heard the sickening crack of Andrew's nose breaking and winced. "Stop!" Alyssa exclaimed as blood gushed down his face. "STOP!" Alyssa shrieked as she paled. "Well, I've got my screamer," Kowaleski said as he took off the brass knuckles. He suddenly pulled out a gun and then held it to Alyssa's head after Grigorvich let her go. "Put that damned gun away, Kowaleski!" Harkov snapped as he stared at Kowaleski. "Tell me the f**king truth! Are you leading me on?!" Kowaleski yelled as he grabbed Alyssa's throat. "What do you mean, Grigorii?" Harkov asked as he stiffened. "After you get what you want, will I continue to be your second in command?" he asked as he pulled out his knife. "Unfortunately, my friend, I can no longer trust you. Your madness has left me with soldiers who are afraid. You're too unpredictable, friend," Harkov said as he drew a pistol out of his pocket. He aimed it at Kowaleski, but before he pulled the trigger, Kowaleski fired and Harkov fell, his brains splattered on the ground. Jeremy paled and then stiffened as Kowaleski ran a thumb down Alyssa's chin. "So, which of you will join?" he asks cruelly as Jeremy pales with rage. "I will," Alyssa said as she stood straight before him. "Well, I think we have our tribute," he mocked as he walked out of the room. Jeremy went to Alyssa and then hugged her. "Why? Why will you join?" he asked as she let go of him. "I have to. You''ve already been through hell and high water in Iraq. I can't let you do this. Take care of my kids, will you?" she said as he wiped away a tear. She kissed him and then walked away. "I'll never forget! I swear on it!" he yelled as he was pulled out of the room along with Andrew. Alyssa turned only once to look at him before Kowaleski gave her an uniform to change in to...
