ARANYANI
It was Thursday, today. Which meant that the Halloween Fundraising Recital was today. The University had gone all out for today. After the various performances, there was an auction taking place.
Various donors had donated things of immeasurable beauty and money for the auction. A hefty sum of money has also been donated by the Royal Family in Liveria. Many influential people from the state were supposed to be coming for the fundraiser. My friends' parents were also attending the event.
This was the first time in my life where my parents would not be able to attend my performance. This thought had me in a bad mood for most of the afternoon, but after a Skype call with them, I had been resigned to the fact that it was what it was. For the next four years, I had to make do without them attending my performances.
Currently, William was in my dorm briefing me about today's security detail. Due to the various important people attending the program, there was going to be an inevitable clash in security details. And, in William's mind, today could be dangerous for me. We both knew that nobody other than the twins and the higher-ups of the University knew about my real identity, but it was better to take precautions.
"Apart from me, ten other men will be stationed around the auditorium and ten inside. Five others will be backstage with you to ensure your security."
"Yes, William. We have gone over this about five times now. I remember every word you said. Now, let us go! I have to get ready and meet with my dance group." I sighed.
"Yes, Princess. I will be escorting you to the auditorium." William said.
"Yes, I know. Come on then. Jaldi chalo!"
I collected my makeup bag and my costume and walked outside to meet William.
All my friends were going to be there today and I was very excited. Asaiah was also playing today and I was thrilled about listening to him play again. Caius' IT club was collaborating with my dance group for a performance.
Seeing that it was not a working day at the university today, no buses were going around campus. So, today I had the chance to finally drive my car. I had begged William to let me do it. He was a little reluctant, considering my car was very flashy and it would not help with me staying undercover. But, William was just like my father. A few glances at him with my infamous puppy dog eyes or as Caius called them "I-can-get-anyone-to-agree-with-me-when-I-show-them-eyes" and he was agreeing with me after a few phrases like "you always do this to your father and me" or " your mother will hear about this, Princess".
We walked out of the building and there it was. My beautiful car. The Tesla Roadster. It was a beautiful, shiny, red car which would make anyone look twice. I had worked hard for two years to save the money for this car. I had saved all my pocket money and the money I got on festivals and done everything my father asked of me for two years. I went to all non-essential meetings and had to sit through all budget sessions with my father and his ministers. I had helped my mother in all the charity events she organized and I had even agreed to complete my master's degree back in my own country.
I obviously could not get a job, safety reasons, and all, but I had worked my butt off, to buy this car. And when I had bought it with my own money, I could tell my parents were beyond proud of me.
I whistled when I saw one of my bodyguards give William the keys. I put out my hand expectantly in front of him and he sighed when he dropped the keys in my palm. I squealed and ran towards the driver's side, opened the door, and sat down. I put my hands on the steering wheel and caressed it. "I have missed you, love. Let's go for a ride." I whisper.
