The snow was no longer blowing, the wind had died down to a gentle breeze, and the fire in Adriana's home was roaring. Adriana, using the skills she had seen her mother use nine years ago, before Hydra took her, patches up the boy. Or Peter as Mr. Stark told her. Dr. Banner's kindly helping her. She knew all of them by name, who they were and why, what they had gone through, and how they fight. She knows that if she wanted to, she could kill all of them right here and now. Her dark thoughts startled her, she didn't want to hurt them. What had they ever done to her?

Throughout the evening she checked in on Peter, making sure he wasn't too cold or too warm. Tony Stark sat with him most of the time, never letting his eyes leave the boy as though he might suddenly fade away. Pressing a warm mug of hot tea into Stark's hands, she thought of everything she could have done tonight with her pack. Wondering if it maybe wasn't such a good idea to leave them so often, especially since Josilin was ready to have her pups at any moment. Pushing these thoughts from her mind she places a cup of warm tea on Peter's bedside table. Sweating from the fever he gained from being in the cold to long. Adriana prayed that it wasn't because she did something wrong while bandaging him up. She smiled gently, shaking his shoulder, as his eyes opened with sleepiness and delirium.

*back to Adriana's POV:

"Hi" I say carefully as to not spook him.

"Hi? Who are you? Where am I?" He asks trying to sit up straight, panic seeping into his brown eyes.

Gently pushing his shoulder back to the bed I explain "My name is Adriana, you're in my house and perfectly safe. Your friends are downstairs and Mr. Stark is right here...helping me."

"Oh." He says his voice soft, almost like a child's, as he sinks his head into the pillow once again. His big brown doe eyes looking up at me.

"You're a little bit sick from the cold, nothing to worry about, I just need you to sit up very carefully for me and then drain this cup of tea." Nodding his head he begins to sit up. Unsure of how to help him I let Mr. Stark edge his way in and help him sit.

"I'll be back in 30 minutes, when you're done try to fall back asleep." I tell him softly shutting the door behind me.

I sigh folding my head to my chest, it has been such a long day, and it's still not over. Walking down the stairs I see the Avengers are all still standing in the doorway.

"Make yourselves comfortable, I'm making some tea and coffee I'll be out in a second."

"Thank you ma'am" Captain America says from the living room.

"Please, just call me Adriana." He smiles, nodding. I smile slightly in return heading to the kitchen.

Handing the cups to the rest of the Avengers I curl up into a blanket by the window, watching the snow fall from the sky.

"Adriana, may I ask how you can change between a wolf and a person?"

I turn my head back to the voice in the living room. Bruce Banner is on the edge of the seat attentively waiting for me to say something.

"Hydra experimented on me." Most of the faces in the living room ether looked down in sadness, sympathy or understanding. The few that didn't lower their heads, which  respected them for, just had outrage written into the lines of their face.

"How long?" Bucky Barnes, asks from a corner near Mr. Rogers.

"Seven years. They tried to make me better than all of you. Stronger, faster, quiter, smarter, and more powerful. It worked until they tried something more concentrated than gamma rays. I'm not sure what it was, but whatever it did, gave me the ability to turn into a wolf. I killed for two years for them, they asked and I did whatever they wanted me to. I escaped them last year, went rogue on an assignment. They haven't found me since, because they expect me to have gone far away when really I've been right under their noses. I became the alpha only a few months ago in my pack."

"What assignment were you on?"

"One of many assignments they sent me on, but this one was the endgame. My assignment was to kill all of you as quickly and quietly as I could."

Adriana is sharing a lot from her past. Is she good? is she bad? can they trust her?
