November 2017.

The pitter-patter of the rain against the window distracted Yoongi from his current calculus lesson. He already knew what to do. Besides, Mr. Kim talks too much. He looks outside, settling his eyes on the raindrops streaking down the glass.

He saw his reflection and let out a silent sigh. He was tired, exhausted, and he craved the feeling of his flannel blankets. But sadly, he was in school. He was in school, listening to Mr. Kim babble on about different equations he'd already written down weeks before the current lesson. He averts his gaze down to his paper and then his hoodie, noticing the drawstrings weren't even. Absentmindedly he fixes them, making them an equal length.

"Yoongi?" Mr. Kim called out, locking his eyes on him expectantly. Yoongi jerks his head up and studies the board. Mr. Kim never fails to catch him off guard. Yoongi stares at the equation written in chalk, thinks for a moment and clears his throat.

"X equals 34.856."

Mr. Kim narrows his eyes and nods. Yoongi's answer was right. He was always right. In his peripheral view, he sees a boy with dark red hair gasp. Yoongi can't help but let a smirk crawl onto his lips. The boy turns to his smaller friend, frantically whispering something to him, the smaller's face twisting into a bright eye smile.

Ah, yes. Jung Hoseok and Park Jimin. Captain and Co-Captain of the school's dancing team.

Yoongi's seen him around. A Lot. He wouldn't say he's interested in the art of dancing, but when it comes to Jung Hoseok? He's what someone would call...

Obsessed.

For example, last year's talent show.

He remembers the beats and the lights. He remembers the way Hoseok and Jimin moved together on the stage. They twined and twisted together in beautiful harmony, putting the crowd in a trance. Especially Yoongi. Taehyung, his curly-haired friend nudged his shoulder.

"Dude, you're whipped!" He exclaimed over the music, waving an arm in front of Yoongi's view.

Feeling the heat rush to the tips of his ears, he swats Taehyung's hand away. "Shut the hell up, will you?" Yoongi questions, gazing at him. Taehyung stares into his eyes and laughs a little too hard.

"You don't even talk to the guy and now you've got the hots for him - I didn't know you were gay!" Taehyung ruffles the top of his best friend's head, making his hood fall in the process. Yoongi glares at him and scoffs.

"Jesus Christ Taehyung-ssi, I don't like him. I'm not gay either - now pay attention!"

Yoongi nearly jumps out of his skin when he hears the bell ring, indicating that it was his lunch period. He shuts his calculus book and shoves it into his backpack, hoisting it over his shoulder. Hoseok and Jimin walk out together, but when Yoongi and Hoseok lock eyes for a split second, Hoseok waves. Yoongi feels his knees grow weak. He leans onto a desk nonchalantly, watching Hoseok giggle one last time before disappearing down the hallway. Taking a deep breath, Yoongi exits the classroom.

"Four more periods left... I can make it through another day," Yoongi silently encourages himself. He slips his hand into his pants pocket, retrieving his phone. He untangles his headphones and pops them both into his ears, starting up a song and continuing down the hallway.
