What if...?

The days go on...

I was under a lot of stress the next few days. Getting all of Liam's campaign posters and badges printed, setting up meetings and interviews with the school paper and sites to get him coverage, school rallies to spread his name and ideas to the students, and most importantly studying for my upcoming mid-terms!

I can honestly say it was starting to take a toll on my sanity and my friends were always a welcome distraction from my busy schedule. I was walking down the hall to my next class, double checking the dates for Liam's progress report with Mr Bradley when a wild Devon appeared, " OMG you'll never guess who just got asked out to fridays sports rally!".

I smiled and played along coily, "Stella finally asked Micheal out?" Devon smacked my arm playfully and rolled his eyes saying, "that'll be the day, I'm not even sure if she's still into him...". "Really? Hmm I should sit and talk to her, see what's up and if she's ok. GOSH I really need to make time for you guys, I'm so glad you're my friends. Others would have disowned me by now with how I'm neglecting you guys" I relied sadly. Devon proceeded to shove me away, almost bumping into another student and told me to shut up. " we love you and know your swamped, we're here to support you not add more stress to your already busy schedule. Besides we see the effort you put in to see us, you actually try and we appreciate and adore you for it. Now give me a hug ya big softy!" I couldn't help but smash myself into his arms all teary eyed caus I honestly have such amazing people in my life and how dare they make me cry like the big baby I am! I deserve this hug and will take my time enjoying it.

After our little moment I calmed down enough to drill him about who asked him out. "Damien!" Devon squealed way to excitedly that I couldn't help but giggle in reply, "no way! Finally. Geez you two have been eyeing each other for faaar too long." "I know right, took him long enough. Ooo maybe when Liam finally realised he's in love with you we can double date!" I knocked our shoulders playfully  and smiled, "yeah right, that'll be the day but here's to hoping," I held up my fingers crossed. He nudged me and asked if I'm going to the rugby game on Friday then rolled his eyes and said, "of course you are, like Liam will let you miss a game. You're his lucky charm after all." I rolled my eyes at him and smiled, "then I'll see ya Friday. But really tho, I'm happy for you. Fingers crossed it's a heavenly experience that makes him propose on the spot! 🎵Damien and Devon sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S—🎵" Devon interrupted my little song by shoving me too hard into the lockers. "OWWW!" I looked at him incredulously, to which he just walked away laughing looking as if nothing happened.

I was staring at him walking away when Liam appeared by my side smiling, asking if I'm ok. How dare he find my pain amusing, but I forgive him caus he looked genuinely concerned if I was ok. So caring. Gosh can't you care just a little bit more? Maybe it'll be easier to turn into love then. Wait what? No! Bad Nadine! You're a bro, get a hold of yourself.

"Yeah, I'm ok. Think I bruised my hip but I'll live, what you doing this side? Don't you have maths now?" I asked looking up into those rich chocolate eyes while trying to be nonchalant and failing miserably. "Oh yeah, but class just ended got a free period now. I was actually looking for Hazel, have you seen her?" He asked looking around me. "Uhm I think she's by the computer rooms, why? Is something wrong?" "Oh no, just wanted to ask her something." He replied blushing. My heart stuttered just seeing him so cute and flustered, such a rare sight. "Anyway I'll see you later at the cafeteria? Lunch on me." He said starting to back away facing me. "Oh yeah duh, free food. Of course you'll see me there." I grinned back, he winked at me before turning around and heading to the computer wing. I stared after him as he disappeared when a thought hit me. Why does he want to see Hazel? And why was he blushing when he mentioned seeing her? Does he- , no he can't be. Can he? And I ran to the computer wing after him, my heart beating nervously.

Hey guys I'm back!

Thought I'd update after all this time as I'd had a bit of inspiration after losing it for so long. I'm so sorry this took so long but I hope you guys enjoy it and you'll be getting a new update by next weekend if all goes to plan!

I love you all so much and if you're still with me and stuck with me through my absence then just know you have a special place in my heart🖤 Hope you're all safe and healthy and getting back into the new normal with all that's been going on with 2020.
