Should I do it? The music pounds in my ears, trying to drown out her cries. Should I do it? My grip tightens on the knife. The screaming has been going on for an hour, but should I do it? Then I slowly turn down the stereo and the sound of her cries increaces. I slowly open my door after turning the light in my bedroom out so they don't hear me slip down the stairs. My grip tightens on the knife again turning my knuckles white. I can see in the kitchen now. My mother on the floor laying motionless trying to stifile her cries. I can't see him but I know he's there looming over her with that scary look in his eyes that I've seen too many times before. They say that hate is a strong word.. but it's nothing compared to what I feel for my step father now. I will do it.
